Convection

• How convection works.

  • When matter is heated it becomes less dense and tends to rise relative to the neighboring material.
  • When matter is cooled it becomes more dense and tends to sink relative to the neighboring material.
  • This transports heat energy from bottom to top (assuming the heat source is at the bottom.)
