Center of Galaxy: Radio Observations

• In direction of Sagittarius, visible and UV light blocked by Gas/Dust

• Powerful tiny radio source (< 4 AU in diameter) (Sag A*)

• Sag A* does not seem to move => massive

• Spiral of gas ~3pc across with Sag A* near center (radio observation)

• Radio => ring of dense molecular gas (6-25 pc) => inner cavity?
