Windows XP Home SP1, BOINC 3.19 running SAH 3.08 & PAH mfoldB110 3.06. I have BOINC set to "Go to blank screen" from screensaver settings at 0 minutes (more crunching and less graphics.) This works fine on SETI@Home as it actually has a screensaver to go to blank on. (I had the problem with it not liking the "Password" option as many other posters had but I fixed that by just turning that checkbox off and making sure to manually Ctrl-Alt-Delete lock my workstation when I leave it; it has the same effect. This is a different issue.) However, for projects such as Predictor@Home that don't have any graphics yet, or if there is no work available in ones that do have graphics, I get the "message" screensaver with a bouncing "B" icon and scrolling message (ie "No graphics-capable applications running.") It doesn't check that I have "Go to blank screen" enabled. |

So why not disable the screensaver completely? Rightclick anywhere on your desktop, properties, screensaver, set it to (None) and OK out. That's standard Windows. The graphics will still work when BOINC runs Seti, but the screensaver will never kick in. If you don't want to watch anything, shut down your monitor. ---------------------- Jordâ„¢ |
