He recently reported problems with his internet router and quickly used up mobile data volume of his alternative internet access (tethering).

We could only manage 25C (felt like 24C) here today and it's now down to 18C (feels like 17C) while 12C is expected in the morning.

Anyhow I guess that I should start to prepare myself to do a bit more mowing tomorrow.

Cheers.

Sunshine as the mistyness clears.

Enjoy the (comparative) warmth!

It's a bit cold this morning. Currently 31f with a high of 60f forecast. Saw the ISS this morning as it approached the horizon. It was too small to capture but the moon rise was nice anyway.

Posting on a clear Thorsday morning as the sun is about to rise. The temp here is 12C (feels like 11C) as I suck as much cool air into my unit as I can as 28C is expected here today.

Anyhow it's time for a coffee before I refuel the mower and cut a few pieces of trimming line to get the front yard and my side of the laneway finally finished off.

Cheers.

A busy day chasing up after some 'oversights' and the knock-on effects...

There's an urgent order going off ASAP to put in a place a good fix, quick!

... And there is yet two-and-a-bit more days to survive The Food Desert.

(My insides are well upset about the rapid changing of shifts... When best to eat and drink???!!!)

Rotating shift work, I don't miss that at all.

Well the mower is ready for action and I have more than enough lengths of trimmer cord to complete today's job, but I'll give the sun another hour to dispense of this morning's heavy dew before I get started.

Anyhow it must be time for another coffee before I go and water my veggies.

[edit] After taking care of my veggies I'll be leaving any grass cutting for another half hour as that heavy dew is still hanging in well as the temp gets to 18C (feels like 16C).

Cheers.

Thankfully it only got to 26C (felt like 24C) today and it's now 18C (feels like 16C) on our way down to 12C.

Well after 30mins on the cordless line trimmer and 1.5hrs pushing the mower this morning, producing 7 catcher loads of grass, the front yard and laneway is now done. 5 of those catcher loads alone came from that 2mx24m strip of laneway at my back fence. The only problem is I've got to start the whole process all over again, though I will take tomorrow off 1st, but at least it won't take me so long to do now that it has been tamed again.

Cheers.

Goes well with the beautifully warmly comfortable temperature!!

The recent ice and frosts and mists are already a distant memory!

It's sunny here too. No rain until Sunday and even that only has a 35% chance.

Posting on a Good Friday morning in the highlands while having to wait a bit longer each day for that sun to rise.

Currently it's 14C (feels like 13C) with 30C expected today with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon.

Anyhow it's time for a coffee.

[edit] As sunshine starts to stretch over the landscape it's now 14C (feels like 12C) while my open wind tunnel of a unit is down to 17C (feels like 14C).

Cheers.

an eventually stupid question:

Does the grass in Australia, especially the very thick kikuyu grass stops growing in late autumn and winter, e.g. due to cold temps or lacking sunshine, like in Europe? Or do you have this masses of catcher loads all year long?

It mostly does up here on top of this mountain range once the frosts set in, but it'll keep on growing in protected spots, though down on the coastal strip the stuff grows all year round, so I do get a 4mth break from that chore. Then it's time to catch up on restocking my brewroom.

Well my veggies have been watered, but I had to keep looking away from the dewy backyard and borders as they could do with a quick go over again though I have a few other things to do today.

Anyhow I'll get another coffee in before I finish doing a few domestic chores then I can take a look around my steel pile to see what I need to do another project.

Cheers.

And extremely so.

Well that's my inside domestic duties done and the latest addition to my Makita 18V LXT collection went very well. While I was in town the other day I picked up a stick vacuum skin to go along with the drill, impact driver (both came in a starter kit with 2x 4amp/hr batteries, smart charger and carry bag) and 115mm angle grinder, but like most things it's a little short for us taller people. So no more lugging my industrial vac up the stairs to do my unit, heating it up and sending Dog off of her brain at the same time.

It's a tossup now on whether to get a blower, multi-tool or reciprocating saw to add to my collection next.

Anyhow I'll finish my last coffee for the morning before I grab my tape measure and head out to my metal pile before it gets too warm out there.

Cheers.
