Message 2145710 - Posted: 27 Jan 2025, 20:13:59 UTC

Posting on a sunny Tuesday morning where we got off to a 16C (felt like 17C) start with 31C expected before that falling wet stuff returns.

Well I was hoping to do more mixing this morning, but that bugger is again trying to stick a railway spike through my left hip and I have no idea what I did yesterday with my spine to bring that feeling on today. Maybe I should've taken 1 of my special pills last night, but I've been hitting those a bit too much of late and they can have side effects if taken too much. I'll certainly be taking 1 today when I decide to eat though as I hate feeling pinned.

Anyhow I might as well get a 2nd coffee in while I watch the temps here to decide when I close my unit back up to keep the heat out and that time is fast approaching.

Cheers.

The mercury reached a steamy 31C here today and it's now down to a very muggy 21C (feels like 22C) with 17C expected here in the morning before another stinker of a day is had.

Cheers.

Posting on a Hump Day morning where we're off to a 19C (felt like 20C) start with 30C expected.

Anyhow it's time to put the kettle on.

Cheers.

Enjoying an extended evening break before returning to howls and screams...

... And that's not only from the equipment/machinery!

What shift am I on???

... Not what it should be...

Meanwhile, against my good health, I've been doing various (walkable) short journeys by means of my EV, for the sake of carrying a lump of equipment around. Well impressed that even with full heat on, each hop takes less than 1% of the EV battery. In this cold and wet, my old diesel would have had it's DPF and turbo expensively blocked up now!

Edit: DPF = Diesel Particulate Filter

I couldn't get my unit down below 22C overnight even with my box fan set to cyclone mode so I'm not to sure how long I'll be able to keep it closed up today (currently it's 22C (feels like 18C) in here), but it's already a very muggy 24C (feels like 25C) outside.

Anyhow I've been to supermarket, watered my veggies, done the dishes and rinsed out yesterday's empty beer bottles so it's time for a 2nd coffee.

Cheers.

Some excitement a couple of minutes ago.
I went outside at 4:00pm and smelled smoke. It smelled like someone was burning tree debris. Just a light smell in the air. Well it is now past 8:00pm and someone decided to call the fire brigade. Heard the first fire engine go by. So I poked my head outside to look if something was happening near my flat. It’s winter and accidental fires can happen. Smelled the same smoke but heavier. So I looked and did not see any fire. But then two more fire trucks went by to wherever the fire was. Just hope nobody is hurt.

We got to 28C (felt like 30C) before the clouds gathered, the heavens opened up and Thor decided to put on a show so we're back to 19C (feels like 18C) for the moment.

Cheers.

Posting on a clear Thorsday morning after a wet night where we got off to a 16C start with 30C expected before those showers and storms return.

Anyhow I can't see much being done here again today and even my veggies won't need watering this morning, but I will have to divert the downpipe running into 1 of my IBC's as it's full again.

Cheers.

Bright but chilly...

And... What a crazy morning!

For the sake of a change of routine for pushing in some very essential maintenance, we had a near riot of waling and screaming and despondency...

Only for, a mere 20 minutes later, to have smiles and gratitude!

How had that been so hard?!

There's a bit of retraining needed for using a new tool, all of which is very easy. Hopefully, that heads off and fixes what was looking like a steady painful slowdown.

Sometimes, this feels like rather than just herding sheep, we have to contend with a multitude of goats, ducks, geese, cats, and various other forms of myopic tunneled non-visionaries...

Really, are humans an evolved species???

I feel I've definitely earned a few beers for later!!
