The temp here reached 26C (felt like 23C) today and I got all but the compost mix done for my new huge wicking tub which I'll do in the morning as it got too warm for me outside and my spine was crying out for mercy from all the bending. Cheers. |

I almost regretted riding my bike this morning. A layer of frost in the shade don't go well with narrow, almost threadless tires. |

Bike riding is a no for me in this weather. Fair 16°F(-9°C) Wind Speed SE 7 mph Wind Chill 6°F (-14°C) Will have to drive to avoid potential frostbite and hypothermia. ![]() ![]() |

Good sailing weather, not that the fog is lifting. |

Freezing foggy rain here. And I've done my 8 hours penance against rush 'n' haste. The full task and checking took a lot longer than just the fabulously allocated 10 minutes!!... There's nothing more real than reality itself... Spreadsheets are merely a poor fabrication of hope and wishes! Enjoy? Well I've been cooling down after mixing 2 loads of guru mix for my latest huge wicking doing the usual, "few shovels of that with a couple of shovels of this topped off with a shovel of this other stuff until full", but it does take near on 40mins to do each load as a lot of time is taken up by just standing in front of the mixer breaking up mud balls and removing rubbish. I've got about another 3 loads to do yet to fill that tub and I'm about to head out there again where it's now 22C (feels like 21C) to see how many more I'll get done today before it either gets too warm or my stupid spine says enough. Cheers. |

Well that's it for the old spine for today, but I did get another mix done and then covered up stuff just in case we do get a storm later. So everything is set for another start in the morning as the temp here hits 27C (feels like 25C) and storm clouds begin to build up along the escarpment. Anyhow I'm cooling off in my 20C (feels like 17C) wind tunnel with a few beers while deciding what to have for lunch. Cheers. |

Midnight and freezing cold outside. Balmy, you are. It's 10 below zero here, (farenheit scale), and dropping. "Time is simply the mechanism that keeps everything from happening all at once." ![]() |

Subzero (0°C / 32F) temperatures during nighttime. Pathways are partly frozen in the morning from freezing fog. Unpleasant high humidity. Then it gets slightly above zero during the grey, dull days. Since weeks, it's like this. |

We made it to 28C (felt like 26C) here today with some 30-31C days ahead. At least the easterly has arrived and it's now down to 23C as the daylight quickly fades away with 12C expected in the morning. Anyhow I'll get back to this Big Bash T20 match that's going on. Cheers. |

Mr. McDuck. Your Celsius scale for zero is 0°C/32°F. In the United States our Fahrenheit zero is 0°F = -17.778°C. Balmy, you are. -10°F = -23.333°C I do hope Kittyman has a robust heater where he lives. ![]() ![]() |

Mr. McDuck. Your Celsius scale for zero is 0°C/32°F. In the United States our Fahrenheit zero is 0°F = -17.778°C.Sure, I'm aware of that... and I'm glad that such inhuman cold is impossible where I live. We have the Scandinavians up there in the north who can endure such things. There aren't that many of them... It could be because of the temperatures. ;-) |

My 1st winter here we had -14C a couple of times, but it's got progressively warmer each winter since with -7C being the lowest last winter. It's now down to 18C and I'm trying to suck as much of that coolness inside as my big box fan can. Anyhow I'm getting very close to the end of my Tuesday here, Cheers. |

Such cold temperatures or other extreme weather is perfectly fine if you have the buildings and infrastructure suited to such conditions... Two examples are Canada and Japan where in their cities, they have for example underground shopping centres and underground walkways so that you can go about your day in air conditioned luxury despite extreme cold or withering humid heat, 24-hours a day (as your workplace might demand)! ... And then we have the unskilled thrown up apologies of none design cheap gouging profits that is the domestic building monopoly here in the UK... When the design of the building is to game the Market and maximise profits to the exclusion of all other concerns... You're lucky if even the minimum of regulations are followed to get something partially liveable... And the building trade rightly has a criminally bad reputation... But that's all for another thread! (Might that be why l play with high tech gear with my hiking boots on, and at this time of year with double thick thermal socks on!!) Time to warm up with a brew! Mr. McDuck. Your Celsius scale for zero is 0°C/32°F. In the United States our Fahrenheit zero is 0°F = -17.778°C. The furnace has been getting quite a bit of exercise. This morning it's -13f below zero. "Time is simply the mechanism that keeps everything from happening all at once." ![]() |
