The Parker Solar Probe has survived it's low pass into the Sun's atmosphere - travelling at around 430,000 mph, wile being "gently cooked" at about 980C it emerged from the far side of the Sun a little earlier than expected. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cgrwdxpljyxo Quote of the day: In fact, it moved faster than any human-made object, hurtling at 430,000mph - the equivalent of flying from London to New York in less than 30 seconds. That time assumes one isn't stuck in the security, immigration and baggage reclaim queues. Bob Smith Member of Seti PIPPS (Pluto is a Planet Protest Society) Somewhere in the (un)known Universe? |
