Hump Day got off to a 12C (felt like 11C) start here in the tablelands while 28C is expected again as I continue to suck as much of the cool outside air inside before I close the heat out. Anyhow it's time for a coffee. Cheers. |

Found this on YouTube Victor. Just wish you had the electric service needed to use it. I think Carlos might plus a few others. It looks like a game changer to getting power to a EV vehicle. The ConnectDER meter socket adapter will change the very way we install home EV charging equipment. ![]() ![]() |

Well that's enough of the Hump Day domestic duties for me this morning so it's time to get that 2nd coffee in as I wait to close my unit up to keep the heat out. ATM it's 18C (feels like 14C) inside while we're now up to 15C outside so it won't be much longer before shutdown occurs and then I'll just put my leaky leg up while doing more catch up streaming. [edit] The cool is now locked in while the heat is locked out. Cheers. |

Yep... The jet stream is badly distorted... That then distorts all the weather systems worldwide... Any connection to the Russians melting the Arctic ice with their flagrant unhealthy burning of oil and gas and nuclear reactors to get at yet more oil and gas...? All on our only one planet... 1 week down and 1 to go of this enforced boredom (well hopefully), but at least the leg hasn't been as leaky today and the next week is suppose to be wet anyway (gee I'm going to have a yard that will need days of taming again). Anyhow we got to 27C (felt like 25C) today with another warm day tomorrow before the rain hits and now it's time to get ready for it. Cheers. |

I need to go to my home in the Delta for Thanksgiving. Looks like I have a weather window there today. No new snow for at least Sunday. It will be interesting to see how the range of my Volt is impacted by climbing in the freezing temps. Chains, boots, gloves, and survival gear are loaded just in case. As for charging, there is so much change that I think I will skip that step. I have 220 run to my parking space both at both homes. My Volt is now over 10 years old and has over 250,000 miles on it. Things are starting to go wrong. Both heating and AC required repair in the last few months. I have always been concerned with the ground clearance. I only have 3.5 inches. The snow on the pass is deeper than that. So I am considering replacement of that vehicle. Time and circumstances will tell. |

I understand about the ground clearance issue. My Dodge Charger doesn’t have much either so I found out on a few occasions. ![]() ![]() |

Winning on a Thorsday morning where it's 14C with 28C expected before the rain hits. Anyhow it's coffee time. Cheers. |

Am I 'winning'? 'Tis very hard work here outside of Civilization, trying to humor along the remains of a motley crew, in the dismal dark and wet. Especially so when everything is taken without any enthusiasm or interest, just 'as is', no initiative. Everything has to immediately magically work 'just so', or simply whatever just doesn't work. No sympathy or any wider awareness is available to smooth things along more easily. Perhaps Elon is right about just throwing the smelly lot out and replacing the Human defacto automatons with real mechanical automatons... At least then I wouldn't be having to waste my time playing psychologist to overcome their lack-of-imagination forever grumpiness... The trippy-high-sugar junk food doesn't help. Soon... To make my escape for the evening... Into the dark and wet and a long walk to the only decent beer for miles around! (First... I've got to manually operate a remote stuck valve. That thing might get fixed come springtime...) ((Grump... Grump!... ;-) )) See new freedom: Mageia Linux Take a look for yourself: Linux Format The Future is what We all make IT (GPLv3) |

... So... The remotely stuck valve was not stuck. It was not commanded to open in the first place... It was far too late and too remote and too far away from any debug tools... So it is mechanically held open on manual for the time being. So as to have enjoyed some very positive beers! The sky is clear, the stars and planets are bright, and there is a hefty frost already... After a mad dash this morning getting everything read for this next lot of wetness to arrive (it's late again as usual) and getting a few beers in at the pub we're now at a muggy 25C while our partly cloudy day has been nothing other than varying degrees of grey only, but it is 21C (feels like 19C) inside the blower (though about the same humidity wise). Anyhow I'm ready for some lunch and maybe a spinal reset today. Cheers. |

Winning on a P.O.E.T.S. Day in the highlands where we got off to an overcast 17C start with 26C being out target for today along with more expected wet weather. Cheers. |

The Merry Christmas Marketing is gathering apace! How soon before Thanksgiving merges seamlessly through Christmas and into the New Year celebrations?... Yo-ho-ho-Marketing... See new freedom: Mageia Linux Take a look for yourself: Linux Format The Future is what We all make IT (GPLv3) |

I'm just sitting down for my last coffee of the morning after a busy morning getting things (foam tubs, 6m of 50mm PVC pipe and fittings) to build another 7 small wicking tubs for my summer crops so I don't have to move my winter crop tubs across to the other side of the yard, though I'll likely have to duck next door to get some more builders plastic for lining those tubs tomorrow morning after seeing how far what I already have goes, as well as my usual morning chores. We're also up to a muggy 24C with splashed of sunshine poking through the clouds now and again. Anyhow my spine and wounded leg need a rest now and a coffee awaits consuming. Cheers. |

The Merry Christmas Marketing is gathering apace! Here in the US it's not unusual for Walmart to start putting out a few Christmas stuff around Labor Day (1st Monday in September) in their garden center. Then the Christmas trees suddenly pop up near Halloween. Thanksgiving at the very latest, the rest of the merchandise is out all over the store and some Christmas stuff is already on markdown by mid-December. Walgreens and some CVS 'drug' stores start putting up the Valentine's day merchandise no later than the 27 or 28 December. Ridiculous! |

I went out to my dad’s house today. I brought lunch. Ham sandwiches, potato salad, boiled eggs and potato chips. Nothing fancy. Nobody was in the mood to cook a feast. We had a good visit. I asked about the current state condition of my stepmom. He has the cremation “burn” permit but is waiting for the death certificate. So we have to wait until then to light the match. Not sure how long we have to wait for it. |

Wow... Are you going self sufficient? Not really Martin, but growing my own veggies has saved on my grocery bill. I also get a few beers from the pub for my excess production. Off-grid living??I'd need some big batteries to do that. Anyhow 24C was as far as the mercury would travel today and now that wet weather is surrounding us again, but whether we'll get any of it will be yet another story. Cheers. |
