I just weighed myself, again, the scale said 413lbs, that's 118lbs gone since 2022. Even while eating eggs and a link of sausage for breakfast, it would be 2 links, but I think I only have enough to last until 10-14 days from now. I just had 2 chimichangas and I had polished off a pot of coffee today, hopefully I won't need a sandwich today. I also need to go check my mail asap as I'm expecting something good there soon. |

We reached 24C (felt like 22C) today and now that the last of my visitors have left I going to bed. Cheers. |

Well I did it, I figured out how to set my coffee maker to make coffee on the delay timer. Of course when I got up no coffee was made, why? Mr Coffee had fresh grounds, and the strainer was clean, but no Water in the pot... I must have been really sleepy to have missed that, I even washed the dishes. Oopsie. Being a Loser is hard work, but if I were to continue at 7lbs a week, my goal would be 26 weeks away. I'm melting away, what a world, what a world... |

Well I was tossing up this morning on whether to risk the sky and quickly run the mower over the backyard again, but thankfully a couple of interruptions turned up instead so that was the end of my day and the rain fell. Anyhow now that my interruption has left and the showers keep on rolling over here I'm off to bed. Cheers. |

Scientists discover the maximum age a human being can attain. When did bean counters gain recognition as Scientists? The finding is: Women 115.7 years Men 114.1 years However, the oldest verified person is Jeanne Calment, a French woman who lived 122 years and 164 days. I call that somewhat misleading. |

Posting on a Tuesday morning while waiting for the jug to boil and the sun to rise, in that order, after a damp night and with more of that wetness expected. Cheers. |

After an all-too-brief escape into Civilisation... I'm back in the Food Desert with added chill and snow. Hey ho... Hi ho? ... And for something a little different, we've had to clear some space for National Grid to come onsite to change/update a circuit breaker... All good and we'll only be off the mains for a few minutes, but... The backup power failed years ago and we've never quite got round to a replacement... Hence we have to do a shutdown. The shutdown bit is easy. It's starting up again that might become the stuff of nightmares... Mean while out in the Wilderness, I need to eventually change out and add a circuit, for the moment to replace a 20 amp 120v tandem circuit breaker with a 240v 20 amp breaker, and add a 20 amp 120v outlet for the a/c here, then swap the 50 amp 240v(gas furnace) and 20 amp 240v(my car) breakers and upgrade the former 120v outlets and #10 gauge wire to #6 wire and a 14-50 outlet and faceplate, I have almost everything, my evse cable can do no more than 32 amps, to do 40 amps to the car would require a new evse cable rated for a 50 amp breaker, by then I should have a used Bolt EV to pull back on, the in place #10 wire can be used for the new 120v circuit and I have 2 boxes for that, a 1 gang and 2 gang box, I just lack the #6 wire and I did some measuring with my Craftsman tape measure, I'd need a minimum of 15' of 6-3 Romex(25' is available as is 15') which comes with a 4th wire for ground in a #10 size and is bare NAKED wire. Eek! Naked wire. The 15' includes 3' up and 1' up at each end for the box and the outlet location with 11' in between, though only 9' is between the two points, 2' extra is ok. I did find 20' of course, but it costs more and I don't need that much. I also raised the temp on the thermostat from 78-79F to 80 for Sylvester, Sylvester is sneezing and has a thin coat, he has slowed down since I raised the temp, poor kitty, he doesn't sneeze when warm, unlike Grace and Chitty who have better fur coats and so far don't sneeze. I've drank all my coffee in the pot, the Staters creamer being non-dairy is better for me, Kroger's gave me problems as it seems to be dairy, I need to get some Folgers or something in here before my Kroger coffee can runs out. Well the car has its new tag, Medicare when I turn 65 will be paid for my MediCal coverage I'm told, I called the SSA. But nothing rigid or plasticky in the mail that I am expecting, drat, more window shopping, UPS is bringing my 3 boxes of cereal on Tuesday, but that's it here. Yep I went to collect my mail. |

Well I can finally sit down and enjoy a few beers after cleaning up after the last 2 days, getting my usual Hump Day domestics done (seeing as I'll be getting another piece of my largest organ taken out), mixing up 12L of assorted half strength cordials plus making up 4L of dark rum, 2.3L of Southern sipping whisky and 1.25L of Black Sambuca (so I'm fully stocked again). Meanwhile we got underway here at 16C under a threatening sky and it's still 16C (though now feels like 13C due to the wind's arrival) with 17C expected, but constant lite showers have been a regular occurrence. Anyhow I'll get back to my beers. Cheers. |

An atmospheric river is forming and Newsweek predicts that as much as 21 inches will fall in the mountains of Northern California in the next 3 days. NOAA has a much dryer forecast but still heavy rain starting tonight. I'm in Reno and the forecast is for warmer weather and rain. Currently 19f, tomorrow's low is 41f. That's a 2-degree drop from today's high of 43f. My delta home will see 3 maybe 4 days of rain. It looks like the mountains will be too warm for snow. So this is likely going to cause some flooding. |

By 'eck it's gone arctic out there. So much so not even myself is daft enough to walk miles merely for a beer... And we're on countdown to the Friday power shutdown... And SpaceX continue their countdown to launching OFT6 and the biggest rocket live in the world... And to catch it again!! UPS came and went, but I got the boxes of cereal. And for the moment the cats have a box to investigate. Watching more videos on youtube, 1st the off grid life which is racing the snowline, then over to the Chateau in Escape to rural France for some more roofing work. And I just finished off the coffee for today. And of course, today it's Wabbit season... Chitty and Sylvester seem to be getting along a bit better since I set the air temp at 80F, maybe they have buried the hatchet? |
