Escaped...

For a good long walk to a good live band and a rum porter or two...

There's a few rum locals here also!

And I can enjoy a healthy half-shift as my relief turns up to try his skills at keeping the remains of this ship afloat...

The Food Desert remains the same, the site is slowly getting tidied up with a hope of getting streamlined... And there's fewer people.

A progress review is getting more likely this side of Christmas rather than after... Not sure if that's going to be good or bad in whatever ways...

Regardless, we're well into the cold dark wet weather. Which doesn't help.

Well enjoying a few lager homies here after having a shower after spending 2.5hrs pushing the old mower around the whole backyard and getting another 13 catcher loads of grass and weeds, the mower was running on fumes at the end as the tank was dry.

After a 10C (felt like 8C) start here we're now up to 25C on our way to an expected 28C.

Anyhow back to my homies before I have a spinal reset, though I'm also tossing up whether to have a bite to eat in between or not.

After a mostly cloudy day we could only manage 24C before copping the edge of a very severe thunderstorm, but we're now down to 19C (feels like 18C) with 14C expected in the morning.

Other than doing a few lite domestic duties I spent a relaxing Sunday catching up on some streaming while giving my spine a chance to recover from yesterday, though unless I come up with something to do inside for the next several days my spine will get longer to recover.

Anyhow back to what I'm currently watch.

Cheers.

We reached 25C (felt like 26C) here today before over 1.5" got dumped on us and we're now down to 16C (feels like 15C) as another big storm is about to hit and I lose my internet again.

Cheers.

Well that was 1 wild night and Dog's food bowl being full of water means that we got around another 1.5" of rain so I'd better take a jug out when I go to check the rain gauge, though I hope that these scattered showers are done by then.

We got off to a 16C (felt like 17C) start with 23C expected today along with more showers, rain and possibly severe thunderstorms. It's lucky that I live on top of a mountain range with no chance of flooding.

Anyhow it's definitely time for a coffee.

Cheers,

About 5 hours ago a small fire started miles south of me. Shortly after I received an evacuation warning. The wind was howling and it spread quickly. Fortunately, it was on the other side of the City of Reno. I could see it's smoke from my apartment. An hour ago it started to rain. While it didn't extinguish the fire it really laid it down and the evacuation orders were cancelled. Looking out my window now I just see the snow-capped mountain that it started on.
Oh, and for those who like sliding down mountains, some of the resorts are open.

Happy Veterans Day to those who served.

A bit of unexpected sunshine now has us here up to 21C (feels like 20C), but isolated showers are again starting to popup on our 2 local radars, and I've recorded my highest ever single day of rain with 95.5mm (by about 30mm) which covers our November average and then some (90.5mm is the average and so far we have 102.25mm with more wet days to come), but we're still about 110mm behind our year to date average.

All 3 of my rainwater tanks have overflowed again and the redirecting of 2 downpipes has been implemented again (I really should fit overflows to the 2 IBC's that I use for watering my veggies), but other than that the place looks to have survived that wild weather (Thor outdid himself).

Anyhow it's time for my last coffee of the morning before doing the dishes.

Cheers.

We made it to 25C (felt like 22C) and without anymore of that wet stuff falling here today, though at times it looked threatening, but tomorrow will be a different story.

Anyhow it's time for me to hit the sack.

Cheers.

Posting on a Hump Day morning where it's 16C (feels like 17C) with 23C being expected along with 10-20mm of falling wet stuff and another likely wild time to be had.

Anyhow it's time to turn the kettle on.

Cheers.

Well we made it to 24C (felt like 21C) here today before that wet stuff started falling and as it continues to lightly fall it's down to 15C with 10C expected in the morning.

Cheers.

0c to 13c It's going to be windy
32f to 55f and the sun is starting to rise. No fires nearby and I can see the ski runs are filling up. Guess they are making snow.

As I'm about to enjoy my 3rd coffee break for the morning, but maybe not my last, we're now up to 20C (feels like 19C) under this rare clear sky, though how long it'll last will be another story, after 12.25mm more rain from yesterday afternoon and overnight.

Well my veggies certainly don't need any watering for a few days and likely won't for longer as more rain and storms is on the cards for the 9 days at least, though my backyard is like a soggy sponge and likely to get worse.

Anyhow this coffee should've cooled enough for me to drink without getting scolded.

Cheers.

After far too briefly enjoying the wonders of Civilisation... I'm again back in the Food Desert.

It is chilly dark damp misty murky making the night a very wet inky black.

... And I seem to be the only one to smoothly work the new equipment...

I suspect we've lost more than half of the intelligence here having lost about half the people...

It's now at 24C (feels like 23C) here as a few clouds gather, grow and start to turn grey overhead.

It's also time for a LLB.

Cheers.
