Winning on a frosty Monday morning where it's -1C (feels like -5C) with 22C being expected, but again it's a pretty thin frost due to low humidity. Anyhow I guess that it time for a coffee. Cheers. |

And the next North Star will be: Gamma Cephei Gamma Cephei is about 45 light-years away from us. It’s a binary star, with two stars revolving around a common center of mass every 67 years. The larger star, about 1.4 times the mass of our sun, is an ordinary main sequence star, somewhat similar to our sun. The small star, less than half our sun’s mass, is a red dwarf star. Plus Gamma Cephie has a planet, named Tadmor that revolves roughly every two years around the bigger star in this binary system. Tadmor is about 1.5 times the size of Jupiter. Please don't hold your breath. We have a little time left. It stands next in line to inherit the North Star title in around 4,000 CE. |

I'm finally getting my 2nd coffee in for the morning as I've been rushing around trying to get things done here before I head of to cure a problem, but the Garbo is now holding me up as he's running 40mins late (oh hark, is that his truck that I can now hear? Yes it is). Anyhow we're now at 13C (feels like 11C), but it felt a lot warmer than that out there while uncovering the veggies. Now for this coffee. Cheers. |

We reached 22C (felt like 19C) here today and as the sun goes to bed I just might do the same after the day that I've had. Cheers. |

Foreign on screen characters were causing a 500 error here, the above text omits that and everything above is what I typed in copying the original text where I could do so. Not so very strange. I have encountered this problem before. ![]() ![]() |

Meanwhile over here the great orb is wearing its grey camouflage cover-all, and hiding behind a thick mass of grey cloud which is slowly leaking something on us.... Bob Smith Member of Seti PIPPS (Pluto is a Planet Protest Society) Somewhere in the (un)known Universe? |

The Big Meeting has been had (another 'nearly all day', again, exhausting)... So... We failed this latest review. Considering the state of things, I'm not surprised. I valiantly tried offering a long-shot solution for everyone and, after a very thoughtful pause, got the definitive response: "Total rubbish." So, that's that then. Here we're on the beginning of The End. All along, there innocently hasn't been the attitudes needed to be able to fix things or to make anything work long term. There has been a certain 'willingness', that was always too short lived, and that was somewhat sabotaged by a certain lack of awareness or training... And too much is now not fixable and is completely not good for results. Hey ho! (Aside: That exploding wire mesh filter unit eventually got properly cleaned, and, surprise, surprise, is now working fine again, and to full spec. Shame about all the rest of the abused 'plumbing' and processing equipment...) Hence... I've immediately lost my expert colleague. He's already escaped back to civilization! Instead, I'm to gain a new crew who will be helping with supervising/finishing things off... And things may yet linger for a short while whilst we arrange the most profitable way to go. And hallelujah! I'm no longer going to be running around and through all of the shifts across all 24 hours of every day! Yay!! Time moves on... Sadly, extra beers tonight... Will my stomach ever recover from so long in The Food Desert and this unexpected 'adventure'?... Well that orb has yet to rise here yet and a mostly cloudy day is to be expected as well as a max of 23C, though ATM it's 2C (feels like -1C). Anyhow it's time for a coffee. Cheers. |

That's my veggies watered and the frost protection folded away for the next several days, but I may have to pull it back out again towards the end of next week. We're also up to 16C (feels like 14C) already as it's time for another coffee. Cheers. |

That's good to hear Carlos. Well my final run yesterday to get everything done before this next period of rain arrives (maybe later today, but definitely by tomorrow) resulted in an unusual 7.5hrs of sleep for me and I can take things a lot easier today. Anyhow it's time to get some water boiling. Cheers. |

What a morning was had here as people have been coming and going while I tried getting a few things done which should've been finished hours ago that I've only just finished now. The Hump Day temp here got off to a 6C (felt like 4C) start while ATM it's 18C (feels like 15C) on our way to an expected 22C. I'm ready for beer o'clock already, but I'll settle for another coffee for now. Cheers. |

Thor’s in the area with a vengeance. Strong thunderstorm is coming my way. Been hearing thunder outside. I stepped outside for a look and raindrops are starting to drop. The thunder is contentious. Cloud to cloud lightening is constant. Hail the size of nickels and quarters closing in to me. Edit: Thankfully it passed east of me. Close out towards my dad. ![]() ![]() |
