We made it to 16C (felt like 11C) here today, but now that I've fed Dog and covered my veggies up for the night we're back to 14C (feels like 9C) with less than an hour to go before the sun ducks below the horizon. Cheers. |

Thanks Bernie, I drove over that bridge off and on for 20 years, the trusses were almost 100 years old.100 years is not old for a steel bridge in dry desert air. We have many shorter railway bridges here across rivers or roads that are much older. Regular corrosion protection and they last forever. |

Another shift and straight into a calamity... At least this one is only a minor calamity but other tasks take priority to avoid a pile up... Yet more conspiring towards no-time-to-think! See new freedom: Mageia Linux Take a look for yourself: Linux Format The Future is what We all make IT (GPLv3) |

It's 48F this morning. The first time I turn on my heater. I can see the cold front moving into the valley. I think we will have rain this afternoon. |

54F, 73 in doors and the heat pump is being used. I suspect it will be many months before it is turned off. |

Quite a productive day. More "toys" ordered. Hopefully they will work to reduce the noise on stage. (Just got to get the drummer to learn to play the drums and not beat them to death when playing "quietly", and then even louder.....) Posting on a lightly frosty Tuesday morning where it's -0C (felt like -3C) and a sunny 17C is expected. Anyhow it's time for a coffee while I decide what I'll do today when it warms up. Cheers. |

That's been a long day of leaping around like a lunatic just to keep from completely falling off the rails... So much so that all admin tasks were abandoned. Meanwhile, some remote help has proven to be very helpful: An essential part was ordered for immediate delivery in the morning (all too easy when it's someone else taking responsibility for the specs and cost!). We're also getting a specialist in to confirm my assessment... Whatever next? Well, I scraped it out for last orders at the last moment, phew! Well that was a busy morning had here so far with the veggies being looked after and this week's main groceries done, but I am going to have to learn to use my sedan more often (especially when I park it in front of the shed during winter) as I wouldn't have to keep on swapping batteries between the 2. Anyhow it's time for that 3rd coffee of the morning before LLB arrives. Cheers. |

I'm just trying to stay awake long enough to finish watching this movie while the temp here is down to 2C (feels like -1C) and if the humidity goes up and the breeze drops off we should have a frost in the morning. Anyhow it's back to the movie before bed. Cheers. |

Raindrops are falling on my head.... It's a nice morning. 48 with a low cloud cover. It rained overnight leaving a clean scent in the air. It's currently 46f and a high of 62f is expected. Sunlight is still a couple of hours away. |

Bright sunshine outside... Turmoil inside... The specialist has been of good help. How many voices does it take for Management to heed reality?... Lots of lunatic leaping around... Until we now can enjoy a brief pause for thought and sustenance! Meanwhile, deadlines loom... We're off to a very foggy 4C (feels like 1C) Hump Day start here with 18C being expected. It's time now for a coffee before a morning of domestic duties once I've uncovered my veggies, though I may light a fire in Robbie the Robot's belly once I've had said coffee. Cheers. |

Consequences... We next have two days of meetings! We also get my relief bod coming over early to add to the fixing alongside myself. That will help greatly to catch those things that 'happen' whilst I'm in the midst of quenching whatever latest fire-fix... All this has highlighted that we have some painfully inefficient and ad-hoc 'siloed' working at present... Which means also that all that is painfully expensive and needlessly wasteful, regardless of at least some very dedicated staff. Also regardless of the outdated ways and old broken stuff! ... All needlessly hard work! (So far... I'm managing to keep up a half-healthy supply of food for myself during a daily sneak-out-dash! At least the mileage is keeping me healthy!!) Meanwhile off this planet: We have a beautiful full Harvest Moon in a spectacular dark azure twilight sky. And the moon doesn't know what's going to bite a chunk out of it in the wee small early ours of our next day... It's starting to sound like a "clean slate" approach would've been better Martin. Anyhow I just made the mistake of going downstairs again and after still seeing that thick fog about I quickly retreated back upstairs. I'll continue on up here with some other stuff to do after I get a 2nd coffee in. Cheers. |
