In case this wasn't answered, TLPTPHW means "The Last Person To Post Here Wins."

Thanks McDuck.

Now on to some fun.

The rules:
-------------

1. The winner of the last thread starts the new one with a post of these rules.
2. Chooses a future event which triggers the winner, e.g. post number, date-time, and records it privately somehow (yellow sticky, etc.)
3. Everyone has fun posting until the target event is reached.
4. When the target is reached, the old winner posts a declaration of the new winner and also PMs them.
5. Shortly after this a Mod will lock the recently won thread. (My preference is for the winner to ask the mods to lock the old thread after the new one is started.)
6. No double posts. Violators buy drinks or a meal for the house in Rocky's.
7. Additional rule retained from the last round - No posts that APPEAR to be blank - these will be ignored or deleted. (Sig lines do not count as part of a post)
8. No posts from the ISS or from the TSS. ;) Just making sure yer woke up.

I waited for hours; convinced someone will post something before the game is over. Nope.

So again, Congratulations Vic!

... and my condolences to the Englishmen among us. The Spaniards were unbeatable this year. They also kicked the German team out last week... as well as the French days later. That's how it is.

Thanks Carlos and Scrooge McDuck.

104F outside and partly cloudy with a 16% chance of more rain, so far today that is 0.03", 17% humidity.

But at least the power is still on after having thunder go BOOM all around me.

We got 86f and thunder storms. It stopped the Big Boy. Rain damaged the track.

It's 6C (feels like 1C) here while snow flurries are being reported within an hour's drive south now.

Cheers.

Charging my mouse batteries backups in the AA/AAA/9DC/C/D charger, the charger does nicd, nimh, and alka, of course the led's flicker a bit, but it does work.

Now the chargers LED's are a solid bright RED indicating the batteries are charging, they will be ready to come out when the LED's go solid bright Green.

My wireless mouse went RED dead, I opened the mouse up and took out the batteries, one alkaline Duracell had some white chips on one end and so that battery is now DEAD, I looked at the contacts after shaking any white debris out of my mouse and found some white material on a battery contact, so I tried cleaning the contact with a knife blade, that didn't work, I remembered that I have a pkg of cotton swabs from Walmart, I wet one end with some Clorox laced all purpose cleaner and wala, the contact is now clean inside my mouse, the white is gone and the metal is nice and shiny, I had to use my phone to see in there, now the mouse works again, I have 2 Duracell AA batteries in the mouse, the battery that went BAD? It was from 2016 and was still good 6 months ago.

The battery that I threw out had not been charged here, and that AA battery had no expiration date and barely mentioned being a Duracell battery.

Eventually I will have to buy some more Duracell alkaline AA batteries.

Cheers.

You better listen to the ads. Duracell is only for bunnies. That's what makes them jump the longest.

Oh, I just learned, the pink Duracell bunnies are used worldwide except for the US, Canada and Turkey. It is a pity.

... And that 'copper coloured head' was debunked long ago as an advertising scam...

The 'new' alkaline batteries of the day all came out of the same factory, with identical manufacturing, only for the outer case to get printed with different branding...

More power for yer bucks(*) for those that new!

And Congrats to Vic!

Enjoy!!

*: Ok... So a double pun on buck [converter] for a type of electronic circuit and for USA money exchange... :-p

I got some good news in the mail, the CAPSBC has approved me for weatherization work on my home. which includes floor repairs(YAY!), my AAA car insurance went down by , $26.86 in August 2024, by $18.91 a month from September 2024 to June 2025 and $18.93 in July 2025, and I received a Birthday card w/$20 in it.

Yep I'm officially 64.

Now if only Frontier Fiber were here in 2024 instead of in 2025 or so, I could save another $40.00 or so off of my internet bill.

The 3 "new" 185/55R15 82T tires seem to be doing ok, and as a result of my mail I redid my projected budgets until July 2025, my budgets go until Dec 2027 currently.

Temp is 103F and Sunny outside, 15% chance or rain, humidity is 18%, the low was 79, the predicted high is 103 as is the feels like temp, go figure...

In September I think I can get a 4th Goodyear, that's a NEW $148.17 tire.

I'm doing ok.

I just come inside after cleaning and refilling Dog's water bowls and I won't be going out again anytime soon (at least until Dog's dinnertime) as we're now at 3C (still feels like -4C) and even Dog didn't want to get out of her nice warm bed in her shed.

I also reckon that if we do get any showers here today in this icy cold gale it could come down as sleet instead of something soft, cold and wet.

Cheers.

I'm in for the night too. But we have the occasional thundershower. I am getting a nice cool breeze right now. Officially it's 80f but where I am it's feeling like the low 70's.

We have another rainy day and it will be like that until the weekend. At least temperature will reach 26C/79F. Such a rainy and not so hot summer is a relief from the many dry ones in the recent decade.
