I tried calling the USDA today, no luck they were closed, this is for a Section 504 Repair Loan and Grant Pilot Program limited to California of $40,000.00 and $10,000.00 respectively, which has a 1% interest rate for the life of a 20 year loan and both can be combined, this can also do improvements, moving my 1987 home out of here would be an improvement to me, but to the USDA? I have no idea. Oh and the Grant is limited to those 62 and older.

I was going outside to check the car, and my left elbow touched my homes front door, sizzle, I'll be ok, I put a wet paper towel on the minor burn.

Iris Ecoris 175/50r15 tires in a 75H XL rating are out of stock, so next month I likely won't have a spare for my car yet, but I'll see when I get there.

I tell ya's what, I can't wait to get these stitches out of my nose as they're getting bloody annoying now.

Anyhow it's time for me to think about something for dinner.

Cheers.

Don't sneeze?!

Meanwhile time flies and I'm due over the hills and far away over to The Food Desert all too soon...

... I'm stocked up on foodie goodness so hopefully there's only the time-shift/routines-shift to adjust to. Hopefully not to spoil my healthy stomach too much...

... But what of the people to be found there?... And what have they been doing (or not)??...

Thanks Carlos. 101F, that was around 9:30am PST here, current temp is 106, predicted is for 117, temp near my desk 78.

My sister in law called and wished me a happy 64th birthday.

I've got a rundown on what moving my home will entail, thankfully I bought a singlewide, a double or triple would not be as easily movable, I do own the axles and wheels and hitch as they are all under my home, this was not meant to be a permanent location here in the park, though it could be easier than moving a fragile house built on site which is not too sturdy. What's below is close to $50,000.00 not cheap, but this is expected and this involves a 2.61 acre parcel, some amounts are guesses, others I know about and have known about for years, but this has been bouncing around here waiting for an excuse to get me out of here.

$5000 septic(Installing a septic tank and drain field costs an average of $6,000, but this could be between $5,000 and $12,000 depending on the size and type of the septic system.)
$10000 water well($25 to $65 per foot or $3,750 to $15,300 on average for a complete system and installation) this depends on where the water table is at in the ground.
$10000 tear down, moving, setup, this will move my home and all belongings outside of my car and me and the 3 cats, I need one more cat scratching post since I have 2 now.
$5600 deposit from my home for the land
$200 appraisal for the land that is next to some high tension power transmission lines, current value $6,404.00 according to the county tax collector
$1120 closing costs
$5000 electrical service 200 amp and stub(5000-12250 for 500')
$600 trenching (600-1200)
$500 floor repairs
$250 gas to electric conversion labor?
$3300 solar
$2500 replace front door dry rot
$600 electric clothes dryer
$1200 electric smoothtop range
$2000 24000 btu ductless heatpump
$2000 perimeter & yard fence & gate
$220 electrical permit
$300 building permit

Happy birthday young Vic.

Well after yesterday's dragging firewood inside in the morning and then watching the V8 Supercars run around Townsville all afternoon I crashed straight after I fed Dog until just before midnight, then I wound up doing a TV binge until 10am when I went out to let Dog off, resize the rest of that firewood then bringing in the 2 trolley loads and stacking it with the rest and now I'm back to the Supercars for another afternoon.

So I reckon that I'll be really pooped come time to feed Dog this arvo, I might even feed her early.

Cheers.

Thanks Admiral and Wiggo.

My final tire for this month was delivered today, so now I need to take 3 tires and 2 wheels in to Walmart.

The temp was 115F today, 118 is coming and on multiple days and is record breaking too, current temp is 107 & Sunny, today I went outside and the car was running the cooling system, above 90 and below 32 this will happen.

I need to call Walmart and get an appointment made and load the car with 2 wheels and 2 more tires, though not tonight since Walmart's auto care center is closed for the night.

1 tire is already in the car's backseat waiting.

The temp is 116F outside, predicted for the week 118.

I was going to call Walmart, but I'm waiting a few days until it cools some,
I still have 2 rims and a tire to get loaded into the car.

Victor, your utilities look cheaper than mine. I have a flat fee of $55.00 not including electric. Electric is running between $40.00 and $50.00 monthly. Then tack on the hefty rent payment.

I get the care rate on both gas and electric, this is from my notes:

$172.80[electricity]
$ 14.89[gas(methane)]

Gas currently is used only to dry clothes that have been washed here, the "cold" water pours out warm to hot in all but winter here.

The cold water doesn’t get as hot as yours. But if you want actual cold water in the summer. You have to put a container in the refrigerator and refill as needed.

The park has a small water tank and two water wells, me I have a 20yr old fridge with condensation problems, a damaged gas range, a dead gas water heater, plus I need to install 3 tires on my car and that means I need to lug 2 rims and a tire to the car on Saturday if I can't get help from a local friend, I have 2 tires in the backseat now, it's hard to carry something in one hand a crutch in the right while going down steps at my weight of 455 lbs, I just weighed myself.

It's now 116F and Sunny.

... Try the Food Desert here?...

My first evening and I've already had to suffer a (heavily battered) fish 'n' chips...

At least I did get a taster of a token 'salad'...

Some fixing and 'retraining' is needed but I'm hoping to make my escape before my stomach is poisoned too badly!

(I've discovered one key worker has been living on just biscuits and beer! Just because the brightly colourful packaging claims that the sugar sweet 'breakfast' biscuits are [supposedly somehow] 'healthy'...)

Aaaargh?
