That was a quick dash through the food desert and...

By 'eck the people there are just so unhealthy!

So... We've some useful albeit very slow progress. The changes really do need to be in small steps, one step at a time. The usual pattern goes: Day one of horror and indignation and reluctance edging into refusal; Day two is an unexpected acceptance, at least partially with lots of detail (conveniently/somehow?) forgotten; Day three is initial shock-horror followed swiftly by relief for a good result.

It's almost like pulling out rotten teeth!!

With the same high relief after the initial dread!

And in the rush, I hadn't taken any supplies so I've got a half-dodgy stomach again... I was hoping the fish 'n' chips dinners were a good escape but the lack of anything else nutritious took effect... And it ain't just the water!

Now for a good healthy mix into... Christmas!!!

Enjoy!

I woke up to 45f and a light rain the the temp has droped to 41f, the rain continues and is expected to last thru the weekend. This is normal winter weather for the upper left coast. My heat pump hasn't frosted up but if the temp drops to 40 it will.

It's already up to 18C care of some sunshine as I'm about to head outside for a while to get a few things done before that rain returns.

Cheers.

Christmas plans have changed. Looks like I will be staying at my flat. My family has issues going on. Was planning to visit with my stepmom but she has had a severe mental health crisis. She was moved to a different care facility for her safety. I hope she doesn’t stay long…

I'm sorry to hear that Admiral. :-(

Still sending you all the best of wishes. ;-)

Anyhow I've just come inside for a cool down after scrubbing my 1st 1000L IBC out and as it drains over the drier parts of my backyard, but after 6 flush outs and that scrub the water will be fit for garden purposes now.

It's too early for a beer and at 21C (feels like 20C) I'm too hot to get my 3rd and last coffee in for the morning, but it's a bit early for a beer as yet so I'll have some half strength fruit cup cordial with a half dash of dark rum instead. ;-)

Then I'll see how this weather is going as to whether I do the 2nd IBC or just put the 1st up on bricks so that I can get my watering can under it before it fills again.

Cheers.

Best wishes Admiral!

We got a hospitalization here also, with something like pneumonia and exhaustion... Awaiting details. Hopefully they'll be able to rejoin the team again soon.

Meanwhile, regardless of the best laid plans, all has got off to something of a random start... I knew we needed an extra week before Christmas!

Hey ho!!

(I'm making my late escape regardless, ho ho ho ho...!)

3c to 15c today and sunny. No more rain in the forecast until Wednesday. I might just take one of the boats out today and see what the delta looks like after so much rain.

Time for a coffee.

Cheers.

My corner of the upper left coast is 35f with 95% humidity, light fog and my ductless heat pump is regularly frosting up.

Middle of winter just past the solstice of the darkest day and...

It's all gone strangely mild and balmy and the vegetation here is convinced we've already jumped into spring!

Now that Thor and the heavy rain have left the stage it's strangely quiet here now.

Anyhow I'll get a 2nd coffee in before I head outside to see how soggy things are after the extended performance.

[edit] Well things are very soggy here this morning after 44.75mm which more than doubled this month's rainfall and if tomorrow throws in another 20mm we'll have made our long term average for the month.

Cheers.

It has warmed up to 41f with 92% humidity and the light fog continues. Now with the temp above 40 the heat pump is not frosting up,

The temp has dropped to 39 with a 97% humidity. I expect my heat pump to start frosting up, The over night low is forecast to be in the low 30s.
