Recovering from a short heat wave. Over 95f yesterday 82 predicted today but down to min 70s for the weekend and beginning of next week.

Before Modern Humans had children with Neanderthals Modern Humans had brown skin and brown hair and either brown eyes or blue eyes. Of course not all Neanderthals had light colored skin, it varied, both Neanderthal and Human genes have been fully mapped out, Modern Humans share 30% of their genes with Neanderthals, though each person may only have 1.0%-2.0% or 1.0%-4.0%. Light colored skin has protection against rickets or vitamin D deficiency for those in Europe far from the Earth's equator. Light colored skin does not mean one is superior to someone with darker skin.

Neanderthal genes in modern humans are the result of interbreeding between our ancestors and Neanderthals after they moved out of Africa12. The percentage of Neanderthal DNA in modern humans is about 1 to 2 percent in people of European or Asian background, and zero or close to zero in people of African background1. It's warming up quickly here just as the wind starts picking up with the temp already at 19C (feels like 16C).
