A Milestone Birthday This Month/Year

I'm celebrating what I'm calling a milestone birthday this month/year. I'm turning 70 on June 17. Why is it a milestone? Well, even now when I'm still "in my 60s," I don't feel old. I don't feel like 69 is old. But 70. I feel like, when I think, "I'm going to be 70 years old," I'm thinking that I'm going to be old. I know - 70 is the new 50. And I believe that's correct. When I was a kid, people who were 70 were really old. LOL! But now the people I know who are 70+ are active. They even look younger than they did in the 1960s. So anyway, where I'd normally ignore my birthdays and definitely not announce them, I'm embracing my 70th birthday - my 70'd orbit of the Sun! I have a birthday wish list on Amazon, but I made it as more of a joke than anything else. Happy 70th Birthday!!! 70 is a milestone. Guess we need to change the saying "Don't Trust anyone over 30" to " Don't Trust anyone over 80" |

Congrats, Susie. As you should know, reading books goes a long way in keeping a person young. Consider, "Your Brain on Art", by Susan Magsamen and Ivy Ross. I'm 87, and still looking forward to a few more. Cheers, jim |
