Today has gone beyond just grey to sky leaking grey.
Caught me out earlier on - I went out for a walk round the local green space, setting off while it was cold and dry.; at the furthest point of the walk the leakage started. Let's say I was cold wet and miserable an hour later when I got home.

Likewise...

No sun,
No shine,
No proper time of day...

All is a chilly dark misty wet damp.

There is lots of mud!

Cheers.

By 'ecks it's all gone very wet...

Sheetin' it down wet it is...

Bouncin' even...

And yep, it's wet...

And all is dark and wet...

Where's that booming voice parting the clouds and bringing in the sunshine and to offer utopia?

After 2 days of pulling 2 rooms apart and putting them back together again I now have my old computer workbench out from upstairs and replaced by a dining table giving me a lot more clear floor space to move about in.

I'm going to cut the old workbench's steel frame in half length ways, weld on 2 new legs to each half, then weld supports for a shelf to go under the tops and then weld steel mesh onto the tops and shelves to turn it into 2 veggie garden stands for outside to hold self watering containers for more growing more veggies that I don't have to bend down to harvest.

Anyhow it must be time for Beer O'clock.

Cheers.

We may have warmed up to a balmy 10 deg C but without sunshine, this feels like deep midwinter!

Plus lots of mud...

And the rivers are full to their brim...

No stars,

Just an all enveloping damp darkness...

It seems that there's a bit of a shortage of certain steel stocks going about these days (likely due to rebuilding efforts) so for my latest project I've had to improvise a bit, though that does mean a bit more welding, as I got some more steel passed over the fence this morning.

Now after measuring & cutting some of it up I'm going to take a quick beer break while I dwell on a solution to an awkward little problem before slicing 2 steel bedheads in half from top to bottom.

Cheers.

Wiggo. Have you ever considered a hydroponic growing system?

I have Admiral, but I'm settling on wicking tubs for the most part just for their ease of setup and use plus I have most of the stuff here already to make them up (I've collected some stuff over the years to repurpose).

I should be starting to see the potato plants sprouting in my tyres any day now and my butternut pumpkin seeds can go in their raised beds this weekend (yes I know that I'm cutting that fine) as we should be finally be over these cool single digit morning temps.

With a bit of luck the temp outside will be up to something comfortable soon so that I can file and grind away at all that metal that I cut yesterday to see how it all fits together and get the final measurements for the last 4 pieces of steel needed so that it's all ready for welding.

Anyhow it must be time for a coffee break.

Cheers.

All is calm and cool and quiet. Both Orion and the Big Dipper shine brightly in the clear darkness. There is the faint rumble of a very distant freight train clattering along somewhere afar...

Back to summertime already?!

(Nope... There's still the rivers of mud!)

Just taking a quick beer break here before I clamp the last of the cut steel together ready for welding and then I guess that I'd better setup a welding screen across the driveway.

Whether I actually get some welding done today will be another story for later on.

Anyhow I better get that beer poured. ;-)

Cheers.
