Foulmouthed racist Lidia tries another tack to defend her actions. LOL

Thorpe has made a series of wild new comments, doubling down on her strip club clash and accusing female MPs of “staggering around drunk”.

...Senator Thorpe said it was not possible for her to be racist towards Australians who are not black.

“We cannot be racist to white people,” she said. “White people don’t fall into that category......
Boy does she still have a lot to learn and it looks like she'll do that the hard way.

It looks like moronic Mark is going to be in big trouble now.

Alex Greenwich takes legal action against Mark Latham over 'homophobic' tweet.

Yes, here down under nasty talk does have consequences (and so it should).

3yrs in jail sounds good, but they don't mention that he'll also lose his seat.

The One Nation NSW leader has been given a deadline to apologise for his homophobic tweet or face defamation proceedings.

Then there's out own mad Abbott. He was all for it as prime munster as well as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander munster when he was in charge, but it's a totally different story now that he's out in the weeds.

Former prime minister Tony Abbott has accused an inquiry into the proposed Indigenous Voice to parliament of performing a backflip.

At least we knew that this bible bashing mighty racist homophobic wasn't genuine to start with. It also proves that ring wing pollie are nothing these days but lowlife hypocrites.

The result of police ineptness or the result of right wing pollies' poor attempt at a coverup?

Police made sex claim in secret dossier about Brittany Higgins, document tendered to inquiry reveals.

Personally I reckon that the later is the real reason behind it.

Most of us have thought that this case had been tampered with by certain persons of the right wing government of the day.

ACT Director of Public Prosecutions tells inquiry he suspected federal politicians may have tried to interfere with Bruce Lehrmann's prosecution.

The ACT's top prosecutor feared that federal ministers may have interfered with police to try to thwart the prosecution of Bruce Lehrmann, an inquiry has heard.

Shane Drumgold's allegations that ACT detectives pressured him not to prosecute Mr Lehrmann is the main reason the ACT Board of Inquiry was established.

It is examining whether criminal justice agencies met their responsibilities in the case of Mr Lehrmann, a former Liberal Party adviser who was accused of raping Brittany Higgins in Parliament House in 2019.

Mr Lehrmann has maintained his innocence after his trial was abandoned late last year. There have been no findings against him.

On Wednesday, Mr Drumgold, who is the ACT's Director of Public Prosecutions, told the inquiry about what he suspected was behind the pressure on him from police.

"Some of the questions in my mind hypothetically were: was this at the time a government minister exerting pressure through the [Australian Federal Police] commissioner onto ACT Policing to make a matter go away?" he said.

Mr Drumgold made the remark during a discussion about the letter he sent to ACT Chief Police Officer Neil Gaughan, which sparked the inquiry.

In that letter, he asked that police have no further contact with defence or prosecution witnesses, saying he "had in mind" Liberal senators Linda Reynolds and Michaelia Cash.

"I'm looking at the circumstantial strands … enthusiastic engagement by a senator … an unprecedented passion that a number of police held that this matter shouldn't proceed," Mr Drumgold told the inquiry......

Well both state and federal extra far right nut job pollies are both going to court to try and defend themselves with the federal nutter selling off her cardigans and jumpers to fund her defense.

Independent MP Alex Greenwich to sue One Nation's Mark Latham for defamation over tweet.

Pauline Hanson auctions off knitwear to raise legal fee funds.

You'd think that all the trouble that these 2 useless morons have been in over the years that they'd both have learned by now that words do have consequences here down under and that the vast majority of us here would love to see both go down hard.

Privileged North Sydney mayor spends millions of rate payers' dollars on preserving her view.

Sydney council spends millions blocking developments, as mayor at risk of losing her view.

I wonder if she'll get reelected next time.

I bet that we've upset PooTin yet again. There will definitely be no new Russian embassy in Canberra citing national security concerns (well it won't be where PooTin wants it anyway).

Government terminates lease for new Russian embassy.

Parliament has rapidly passed legislation cancelling Russia's lease on a block of land adjacent to Parliament House where it planned to build its new embassy.

The Australian government introduced a bill to parliament on Thursday morning that would terminate the Russian embassy's lease, as the prime minister said the government had received advice it posed an intelligence threat.

The legislation was passed through parliament in just over an hour with the backing of the opposition, moving through each chamber in a matter of minutes.

"We're acting quickly to ensure the leased site does not become a formal diplomatic presence," Mr Albanese said.......

‘Destruction’: Russia rages over Albanese’s call to block new embassy.

And no other foreign power will use the site either. ;-)

He didn't take that news well.

Russia launches High Court challenge to Australian government's embassy decision.

Australia's highest court has been asked to consider whether federal parliament has the power to tear up Russia's lease on a prime block of Canberra real estate where it had begun constructing a new embassy.

The Albanese government last week rushed through legislation terminating Moscow's tenancy on land adjacent to Parliament House, citing a possible national security risk.

In August last year the National Capital Authority (NCA) issued an eviction order to the Russian embassy to leave the site in Yarralumla where construction work on a new diplomatic complex was underway.

Russia then successfully challenged the NCA's decision in the federal court, prompting the Albanese government to enact new laws to permanently stop the construction of a new embassy building.

Lawyers acting on behalf of Russian Ambassador Dr Alexey Pavlovsky have now launched a High Court challenge to the Albanese government's legislation and are trying to prevent the Commonwealth (defendant) from entering the disputed land in the meantime.

Documents submitted to the High Court state the Russians are seeking an order that "the defendant, by itself and its servants and agents be restrained, until further order of the Court from [a] re-entering the Land and [b] taking any steps to re-lease the Land".

According to the High Court application, the Russian Federation claims to have already spent $8.2 million on construction works and associated activities since entering a lease on the disputed block of land in December 2008.

"The Plaintiff will not carry out any further work on the Land or its improvements (including works to erect, construct or modify any buildings or other improvements on the Land), other than carrying out general maintenance," the documents add.

A spokesperson for the Home Affairs Minister Clare O'Neil said the latest legal challenge was not a surprise......

Australia’s High Court dismisses Russia’s bid for injunction to stop its embassy’s eviction.

Australia’s highest court on Monday dismissed Russia’s application for an injunction that would have prevented Moscow's embassy being evicted from a site in the national capital Canberra.

In dismissing the application, High Court Justice Jayne Jagot described Russia’s challenge on constitutional grounds to a law terminating the lease as “weak” and “difficult to understand.”....
That's a sound description of grubby little PooTin.

More bad news for the right.

Coalition faces slim chance of return to power unless it gets young voters on board, says report.

And they certainly won't while they try and hang onto ideals and policies that go back to before 1950's while also trying to bring mighty white christianity back into the political picture.

Some other countries around the world face the same problem, most the young do not want to live in the conservative religious past.

Finally the ICAC report is out and it's not good for the state's ex right wing government.

Gladys Berejiklian: ICAC report into former NSW Premier’s secret boyfriend handed down.

A corruption probe has found both former NSW premier Gladys Berejiklian and her

former lover and disgraced MP Daryl Maguire engaged in “serious corrupt conduct,”

after a near three-year saga.

The damning report, released by the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) on Thursday found Ms Berejiklian breached public trust between 2016 to 2017 by failing to disclose her five-year relationship with Mr Maguire, which the watchdog found could have had the “potential to influence the performance of her public duty”....
So basically Gladys gets a slap on the wrist for being stupid while Dazza gets referred to the Director of Public Prosecutions on more corruption and fraud charges.

That's strange. Don't states usually own the land on which their embassy buildings stand, which is then given special diplomatic protection? How can you invest millions in a building on a leased lot?

In Berlin, the embassies of many large countries were rebuilt exactly where they were before WWII. The city center was almost totally destroyed. But the properties (lot) still legally belonged to these states. The U.S. Embassy is still very conveniently located next to the Brandenburg Gate, very close to Parliament and the Chancellery. It also has strange structures (photos) on the roof. Anyone who lets themselves be bugged is careless about security.

You must remember that our history of white European settlement only dates back to 1788 (indigenous settlement here dates back 70,000+yrs) so we learnt a lot about sovereign land rights, though land leases usually do go for 99yrs, but they also come with strict guidelines on what 1 can do with that land and 1 of those attached to this lease was to have something finished many years ago (instead it's been looking like a dump for way too long).

You also don't want a hostile in a spot where they can easily eavesdrop on parliament while sitting right under the main communications tower for almost everything. ;-)

There will have to be some reimbursement, but we can live with that. :-D
