It was a slightly frosty and very foggy 2C (felt like -2C) start here at 6am and that hasn't changed as yet even though we know that there's a sun up there somewhere with just 10C expected today. I'll light the fire downstairs in about half an hour before checking the rain gauge and then heading to the chemist & post office so that by the time I get back the shed should be warm enough to get some more welding done. Getting the grinding done will depend on how long this fog will hang around for and if we can get some good sunshine raining down on the front of my shed. Anyhow I might just squeeze 1 more coffee in before doing all that. ;-) [edit] Well what a difference 30mins makes as the fog suddenly needed to be elsewhere allowing the sunshine through and kicking the shed's solar heating system into top gear so I'll hold off lighting the fire until I get back from my wander around half the village to see how far it goes (it's already gone from 8-16C down there). Cheers. |

After 90mins of grinding and filing away I'm finally ready to cut the the the last 8 remaining small pieces of 20mm angle to complete the 1st kindling splitter so that it's ready for the paint shop. There are 4 pieces that I'm not looking forward to and that's because I've got to cut them at 45's at a 45 at 1 end, 90 at the other and they're only about 40-45mm long. So I reckon that requires a beer break before attempting those. ;-) P.S. I don't think that that helmet would pass OH&S scrutiny here. Cheers. |

9C (felt like 5C) was the best that we could do here today as the sun is now well past its zenith and far too cold in the now shaded grinding area out front of the shed to do anymore out there. I also just lit the fire up, as the solar heating is about to lose its energy source, and I put my chicken soup that I made yesterday back on top of it. Anyhow it's time again for another beer or 2 down by the fire taking the burrs off the last 8 little bits that are needed to complete the 1st model while waiting for the soup to simmer. Cheers. |

Friday afternoon, sunshine, high heat, and a good few people seem to be in a heat daze and brain fog... Just seen one prang between a car driver and a parked car. Also seen three "close calls". Is this normal Friday driving? Or is it just the heat?? See new freedom: Mageia Linux Take a look for yourself: Linux Format The Future is what We all make IT (GPLv3) |

It was a frosty -1C (felt like -4C) start here this morning while 10C is expected again today, but we havn't reached an expected max here in ages. I'm now hoping for a good bit of sunshine here this morning so that I can get several more fiddly little bits of angle cut and hopefully these 1's won't draw as much blood as the 1's I cut yesterday did. Cheers. |

Happy birthday Vic. No real sunshine happening here as yet as the frost continues it's grip on the landscape and there's certainly no action happening with the solar heating system as the temp here is now at 2C (feels like -1C) with high cloud blocking out the sunshine. Anyhow it's time for another coffee before I go downstairs to light the fire. Cheers. |

Know about the unseen damage problem. My last car had a car hit a car and push it up into mine. Surface damage was the bumper cover. Unseen was a 2.5 inch point of impact deformation in the trunk lip edge. Until the trunk was opened it was not seen. Had a body shop repair it. ![]() ![]() |

That's know as a Kluger here, but I'm not surprised about its plastic being damaged. Anyhow a lot of cutting, filing, grinding & welding got done again today and a hell of a lot more grinding needs to be done tomorrow, I just hope that we get the sunny that is promised for a change. Now I'm just thinking about some fish'n'chips with onion salt and vinegar. ;-) Cheers. |
