Thought the fireworks were over. It seems the big shows are, over, but now the local kids are firing them off. Happy 4th.

Well 12C was a target too far for us here today (they even dropped it down to 11C at midday) with the best that we could do being a soggy 9C (feels like 7C) and another wet day is expected tomorrow, but after that the experts keep changing their minds on what's going to happen in the days to follow.

It might be a couple of days before I can try out my new 100mm angle grinder that I acquired today (after blowing my 14yr old 1), but with 4.5kg roll of mig wire (instead of using the locally available 1.8kg rolls) and another 2kg pkt of 2.5mm rods now on hand I can get some more welding instead. ;-)

Anyhow as the rain is still falling I think that I might go and make myself a coffee.

Cheers.

Time flies far too fast...

How long can it take to get some bits together and arrange them in a useful order?...

Entropy can be too much fun for the allocated time!...

Well... For the ultimately surreal...

Not that long earlier, there I was, sat Zen-like crossed legged on the ground in amongst golden near ripe corn in a golden sunset in a business forum Zoom meeting! Oooops!!

Well... I didn't have a tripod with me and the stalks were ideal for holding the mobile in place for working "hands free".

All worked fine on mute and no video until... Near the end, my 'input' was required and so my cover was then blown!

... In the wrapping up, there were some (friendly) jealous comments about my healthy place for conferencing :-)

All good fun and usefully good when the power of IT works!!

I guess that when I have this coffee break finished I'd better get downstairs and fire Robbie up before I go out to check the damage in the rain gauge and then getting some more work done.

We're still at the same temp that I woke up to, 10C (feels like 9C), and the rain is still falling (maybe I'll get a break in it at 9am), but today's 15C expected max may again be a step or 2 too far away.

Anyhow I better start of this coffee.

Cheers.

Up most of the day. Thinking a small spinal reset is in order. Crawling into the adjustable bed with memory mattress is clawing at my wakefulness. I feel like HAL. My mind is going. I can feel it…

I'm just having a cool down break as it was getting a bit too warm welding away down by the fire, but hopefully v1.0 of the 2 kindling splitters is ready for its final grind up before paint (that is until I take my new little angle grinder to a few tight in welds, but that'll have to wait until the rain stops).

Damn, and it's too early yet for a beer break. :-(

Cheers.

After a bit of a clean up the smell of welding has been replaced by the smell of KFC chicken pieces and bones simmering away on the fire as I can now sit down and relax with a beer or 3. ;-)

Cheers.

Winning as a productive day was had here once the cloud that was sitting on us decided to move on.

Now I'm having my 1st taste of the soup that I've been cooking and I must say that not much else needs to be done with it other than to be consumed. :-)

Cheers.
