Had lunch at a little garden-style restaurant run by a commune along a back road.

I can see the truth in that statement. The food was really good.

It's good to hear that you're having a good time there Carlos. ;-)

I just had to come inside for a cool down break as it's now a very humid 22C (feels like 23C) out there, but I did turf cut another 3.6m of trench and scraped out almost half a wheelbarrow of dirt, rocks & stones from yesterday's effort here this morning since those threatening clouds left (I wasn't game to touch the spade for a while there in case I attracted its attention).

Anyhow once I've had this floured water and have cooled down it'll be time for the mattock to lift that cut turf out with.

Cheers.

Well we did have a nice sunny morning here until now as the clouds have moved back in from off the coast and a cool easterly breeze came with them. :-(

Currently it's 17C (feels like 14C) here with more showers, storms and a max of 25C are expected.

Cheers.

All is spooky dark and misty damp with a heavy hint of misty drizzle.

No moon, no stars, just grey damp dark, and mud. And strangely mild, warm even!

Good to see that Putin is at least partly bogged down in the mud for doing anything stupid with his tanks...

Best wishes and all help for Ukraine!

I was going to rest today, but that unfinished trench got to me so I cleared the older overgrown section and widened it to suit the later section (it might as well be spade width wide, but I still have yet to hit water.

Anyhow I'll have a quick beer break now and cool down before heading back out to clear out my morning's effort. ;-)

Cheers.

And the misty hint of rain has turned to rain...

Just enjoyed an excellent and spot-on enthusiastic rant about unscrupulous heat pump installers installing the wrong sized units for the sake of gaming the subsidies and for the sake of being lazy incompetent in the first place. Just had to say "yes". From what I've seen, very much so! I suspect there is too much silliness going on that will forever give industrial and residential heating heat pumps a very bad name... There's only so far that the recommendations and regulations can advise for 'good practice'. The reality is that a good understanding of practical physics is needed to appreciate how best to install the things for good operation...

But educated people cost money... (And they need educating first...)

Might sneak in a brew before the next job!

I'm back
Really don't like San Diego Airport. They have inadequate seating and no place to charge your phone or laptop.
My trip from arriving at San Diego Airport to arriving home was 9 hours. Only 1h 20 in the air.
I can hear it now. If God had intended us to fly he would have made it easier to get to the airport.

At least you made it back safely Carlos. ;-)

I now have 25m of drainage trench mainly dug out, but I've got some 10m of mattock work to do to get fall to the front of the place.

But now I'm going to take it easy and think about what I'm going to have for dinner.

Cheers.
