Hi there, i started my first crunch in 1999 on my notebook with 1 WU per nightshift. I really was happy every morning to help find better people in space. Now it seems all is over forever. Had a bit more then 2 millions of WU but paused for a while to help find knowlede on Rosetta@home. Now returning i saw its over and with the Arecibo-breakdown it seems finalized and written on the tombstone that there is no SETI anymore and i would like to ask, are there other distributing projects to search for extraterrestial life or is there a chance that SETI will continue one day with another radio telescope maybe ? Or that it simply continues ? ![]() |

Hi there, My guess is Seti@home is done, save for writing the journal articles. The project ran over 20 years. The original researchers are getting up towards retirement. UC Berkeley has other Seti projects with other researchers and other methods. The search will continue, just not in the same way. |

Thanks for the answer, that would be awesome. Always liked the idea of SETI. So many good things end these days. ![]() |
