I have no idea what this fellow was thinking, I don't think that he did either.

Truck stowaway 'lucky to be alive' after hiding beneath B-double for 390km trip to Gold Coast.

A man who stowed away beneath a B-double trailer instead of paying for a short taxi ride home is lucky to be alive after he ended up travelling nearly 400 kilometres on metal racks suspended barely a metre off the road.

A 43-year-old man, believed to be under the influence of alcohol, had crawled onto metal racks beneath the truck with plans to hitch a 40-kilometre ride along the New South Wales coast but ended up on the Gold Coast.

Truck driver Pardeep Dahiya said he was driving a Sydney-Brisbane freight run and had stopped in Nambucca Heads for a short nap at about 1:30am on Friday.

Mr Dahiya said after a quick coffee and completing his checks, he set off again at about 2:40am.

"When it started to get light, I could see in my mirrors a piece of orange cloth under my trailer," he said.

"I knew it wasn't coming from inside the trailer. It was coming from underneath the trailer."

Just north of the Queensland-New South Wales border — about 350 kilometres from his last stop — Mr Dahiya found an emergency stopping bay near Tugun and climbed out of his cabin to investigate.

What he saw was a man climbing out from the gate racks stored in the trailer's underside.

"When I saw that I took two steps back thinking, 'What is it?'," Mr Dahiya said.

"Then he said to me, 'Sorry. Sorry, man. It's my mistake. I came in under the trailer'.

"That's very different for me. It's very new for me. I can't imagine anyone getting in underneath the trailer.".....
Cheers.

In the next town just north of here (and the birthplace of our way to Federation) an old building made famous by singer and songwriter Peter Allen may yet survive.

Historic Tenterfield Saddler building and trademark sold to equestrian brand WeathaBeeta.

..The building, built about 1860, and its lucrative trademark have been bought by equestrian equipment supplies business WeatherBeeta for an undisclosed sum, bringing to an end months of speculation since they were listed for sale in April.

Allen's grandfather George Woolnough purchased the saddlery on High Street in 1908 and ran it until his retirement in 1960.

Before the purchase by WeatherBeeta, the building was owned by the Meldon family since 1995. After the death of patriarch Brian in 2021, the family decided it was time to move on....
She's had a lick of paint and some repairs done to the verandah that was falling down, but the old girl was in need of some more serious structural work than that the last time I was up there and it was totally surrounded by safety barriers then.

Here's a goof fun useful healthy manoeuvre:

It's obvious that this council doesn't know how to decorate a X-mas tree. :-O

NSW council hands reins to 'vigilante elf' after Christmas tree fail goes viral.

A local group will takeover the job next year.

Cheers.

I think that this building is past its use by date. Luckily no one was injured let alone killed.

New York City multi-storey residential building partly collapses in the Bronx.

Vying for the world's dumbest criminals title are a few new contenders. LOL

A gang of robbers in Colorado found themselves high and dry after their getaway car got stolen, police say.

Three armed robbers in Colorado got a taste of their own medicine when their getaway car got stolen midway through a heist on Saturday.

The Commerce City Police Department said in a statement on Saturday that "three armed and masked individuals" robbed a check-cashing business, Hi Lo Check Cashing "in the 7200 block of Monaco just before 11am."

"In an unexpected and ironic twist… as the trio was robbing the business…a fourth criminal stole their getaway vehicle… which may have already been stolen. We don't know," the police department said in an update, adding that they will release more information in due course.....
Cheers.

Nature is amazing

I have seen that before. I am about 3 hours away from Yosemite and visit a few times a year. That is a repost. I have seen that same video reposted many times over the years. I think that was taken in the summer of 2019. Yesterday they had snow. Here is the live webcam showing the falls.
