I can't believe they did that. I did the MRI/EMF impact analysis for the California high-speed rail. We determined that we need to be at least 850 feet from any healthcare facility to avoid any such interference. We did adjust the route to make sure we avoided any hospitals.

I had a thought. Just imagine if the rail line was a maglev. I imagine the separation distance would have to be greater.

Wollemi pine saplings to be auctioned off for 30th anniversary of species' discovery.

A handful of rare Wollemi pine saplings, propagated from a secret population in the Blue Mountains, are being auctioned off to mark 30 years since the species' discovery.

The pine's last wild community consists of just 46 adult and 43 juvenile trees in a secluded rainforest canyon in a World Heritage-listed area north-west of Sydney.

According to fossil records, the critically endangered "dinosaur tree" dates back more than 90 million years, and was presumed to have gone extinct around 2 million years ago, until a remnant grove was stumbled upon in 1994.

The auction is the first time saplings that are each genetically distinct will be released to the public.

Director of horticulture at the Botanic Gardens of Sydney, John Sieman, said the greater the difference in the trees' genetics, the better chance they had of survival.

"Those people who are purchasing into the auction, we hope have that passion like we do, for conserving plant species," he said.

"In a way, they become an extension of our conservation network.".......

This thief got more than he bargained for.

Camera footage has captured multiple angles of a citizen’s arrest in western Sydney which ended with a soaking wet alleged intruder and a stark warning from residents.

A neighbour has sent a warning to would-be thieves that his suburb is not to be messed with after a citizen’s arrest was captured on film.

The incident happened at 9pm in Guildford in western Sydney on Wednesday, and ended with an alleged burglar falling into a pool and being taken away by ambulance.

In the footage, neighbours can be seen confronting a man walking on the street.

“Hey brother. Who’s f***ing unit are you going into?” a neighbour can be heard saying on CCTV.

Two neighbours confront the man as other residents come out to have a look as the alleged thief tries to flee.

Footage from another CCTV camera shows him running through a backyard, but he falls into a swimming pool.

He pulls himself out but only takes a few steps on dry land before falling in a second time.

The alleged offender was then arrested by the neighbours before police and paramedics arrived.

The arrested man was taken to hospital.......

Interesting I had a power and spectrum outage from 2-6 yesterday. I thought it was localized.

The internet outage is still here, someone slashed a fiber optic cable, yeah the police think they caught the 33yr old who may have did the deed.
