That commission was getting nowhere fast anyway, as many states were refusing to cooperate with it and hand over the requested voting data.

Our spineless, good for nothing 'president' Hidin' Biden isn't solving our border problem.
He's just twiddling his thumbs watching the wreckage happen.
Biden’s ‘inhumane’ message puts migrants in hands of smugglers, traffickers: Chad Wolf.

"We know that the vast majority of these folks do not qualify for asylum, and so they are eventually going to have to be deported or leave the country and go back to their countries of origin. They know that the Biden administration knows that."

In fact, it's quite likely Hidin' Biden is making damn few decisions at all, his handlers are taking care of that.
Pretty much like when he was running for office.................
White House 'increasingly run' by VP Harris, Schumer and Pelosi: Newt Gingrich.

"... people will, later on, look back and say, gosh, there were terrible consequences, why didn’t we know better?"
Is not that being seen in the here and now from the Trumped (non) approach to the Coronavirus pandemic?...

We are already seeing some good positives from Biden.

The first most publicly noticeable result is the return of good sense and genuinely positive smiles in the White House press room.

Hopefully the more positive politics will quickly follow.

Meanwhile, Faux News will continue to stir and rile and bait and poison people's view with deliberate click-bait for advertising revenue with their fictional Truth.

There are more meaningful sources to follow.

And this is probably closer to the truth than Hidin' Biden and his cohorts would like to admit...........
Ratcliffe: Biden so concerned with proving Trump wrong, he'll prove him right.

Biden is potentially forsaking national security to undermine his predecessor, ex-DNI says.

Smiles in the White House press room????? Biden the Clown won't even hold a press conference by himself 'cuz he's too flippin' scared to talk directly to the press.

Positive politics to quickly follow????? The addled old fool has already been in office for what now, a week and a half shy of two months?? When exactly is his magic show supposed to start then?

Just to pick up one point at a time ('cos I'm simple!)...

The question there is whether people want a President who is involved in the action and actually doing useful positive things for the whole of the USA?

Or is a daily TV show comedian wanted who exclaims daily how somehow he is some sort of 'Genius'?

Note that leaders lead by leading. They never have to tell anyone that they are the leader...

In comparison, Trump was still at a baby party scream 'em up! It is a wonder that Pelosi took so long to get the Red Button away from him.

Edit: Yes, there is the joke about what the Red Button on Trump's desk did... How very childish?

Yes it's good to finally see again a proper (real) President who quietly goes about getting the job done (and done properly to clean up the mess that was left for him) instead of some criminal masquerading as a president who only loves the limelight of being in front of a camera while doing nothing except being critical and name calling of others who want to see him do something positive or just wanting to stir up the brainless rednecks to riot. ;-)

Message 2070500 - Posted: 12 Mar 2021, 11:52:17 UTC - in response to Message 2070474.

Trump and the news media while pretending to be adversaries needed each other in the deepest way possible. The news media provided Trump with a megaphone to blast his tens of thousands of lies and get himself in the centre of the world's attention 24/7, a position he desperately craves. The news media's ratings soared with this daily circus of chaos and melodrama and of course when this happens advertising rates increase proportionally; billions of dollars were at stake.

Now? Things are so boring that CNN has cancelled White House press briefings.

Just one month into President Joe Biden's term, the all-news cable channel last week stopped airing the daily White House press briefings. Perhaps the events weren't entertaining enough, as White House spokesperson Jen Psaki has routinely declined to insert Biden into cultural war debates, refused to castigate reporters, and won’t make stuff up in the name of partisan warfare, the way her Republican predecessors did.

Instead, Psaki has answered questions as best she can about White House policy, while treating journalists with respect, instead of mocking them in search of cheap political points.

Come on, Hidin' Senile Biden........does this country have a southern border, or are you planning to annex Mexico now?
What's that you said about illegal immigration?? Liberal left got your tongue these days?
Cal Thomas: Biden's immigration mess – no nation can survive if it fails to control its borders.

Joe Biden: "Those who are pondering risking their lives to reach the United States should be aware of what awaits them. It will not be open arms. It will not be come on -- it will be, we're going to hold hearings with our judges consistent with international law and American law, and we're going to send the vast majority of you back."

Strangely enough and significantly:

Covid pandemic: Biden eyes 4 July as ‘Independence Day’ from virus
wrote:
President Joe Biden has said he is hopeful that America can "mark independence" from Covid-19 on 4 July if people get vaccinated.

In his first primetime address as president, Mr Biden said he would order states to make all adults eligible for vaccinations by 1 May.

Current measures prioritise people by age or health condition.

Mr Biden was speaking exactly a year to the day after the outbreak was classified a global pandemic.

Half a million Americans have since died - more than the death toll from World War One, World War Two, and the Vietnam War combined...

Personally, and I do not say this in jest..............
I think that Lyin' Hidin' Traitor Biden should be immediately impeached and tried for treason against the United States.

Our southern border is under open attack by foreign forces, and he is taking no action to protect this country's sovreign borders, even though an official declaration war has not been made. As our commander in chief, he has the responsibility of keeping this nation secure and safe. He is doing neither.

He is, in fact, offering 'aid and comfort' to those who are attacking the border, instead of defending this country's border and it's territory and citizens.

And that fits the definition of treason.

For a nation that's population is made up almost entirely of immigrants, refugees and asylum-seekers you seem to be very much against others that want to follow in their footprints.

That's an outright lie.
I have no problem with legally controlled immigration from any other nation.
My father's parents immigrated here.
LEGALLY.
They didn't just show up and try to stroll across the damned border.
Or try to cross it illegally in spite of the law.
I expect the immigration laws of this country to be respected, and if you cannot or are not willing to do that, you do NOT belong in this country, you are a criminal.

There is a reason for that. Entitlement mentality. Same as the welfare seeker. Entitled to benefits. Cash or a job. It is the reason of a lazy butt who knows they don't have what it takes to compete.

The only other reason I can think of is an 'ism by a 'ist. I'm sure it isn't that.

One thing to consider (or maybe two)
Crudely speaking there are two types of people who want to move from their home country to another. (In this thread the conversation must centre on those who want to enter the USA, but the concepts are the same.)
There are those that want to move from their current location to another because they perceive that in their new location the grass is greener.
There are those that are fleeing their home country to escape from persecution.
That said it can be very hard to say which group an individual belongs to, indeed there may be some that belong to both.

Just looking at a football stadium's worth of people spread over several square miles from the comfort of a living room hundreds of miles from that body of people, how do say which group they belong to?

I'd add another grouping/categorization:

  • There are those in an area without work and without any support from their country and so must migrate or see their family starve.

Note that with earlier USA administrations, there was some encouragement to set up factories in the northern parts of Mexico to give multiple benefits of producing USA goods cheaply using the abundant easily exploitable Mexican workforce, all remaining in Mexico. Due to that work, there was also a beneficial transfer of funds both ways across the border that looked to be making some improvements for the border areas.

I believe that was all stopped by Trump.

The immigrants that are Lawful Permanent Residents are the only ones that can receive benefits and those have limitations and from that group many of the 18 - 25 age group serve in the U.S. Armed Forces.

For undocumented immigrants the only benefits they can receive are;

Emergency medical treatment under Medicaid if the individual meets the other eligibility requirements and the medical condition is not related to an organ transplant procedure.

Immunizations for immunizable diseases and testing for and treatment of symptoms of communicable diseases.

Free public education for grades K-12.

Federally subsidized school lunch and school breakfast programs for those eligible for free public education under state or local law.

For all immigrants that get jobs The Institute on Taxation & Economic Policy in March 2019 estimated that Undocumented immigrants contribute significantly to state and local taxes, collectively paying an estimated $11.74 billion a year.

There is very little evidence, that I can find, that supports your argument, but I am open to change my views if you can provide documentation.
