That's a very sad bit of news - when I was on holiday in SF a few years back that wharf area was a fascinating place to walk around. Bob Smith Member of Seti PIPPS (Pluto is a Planet Protest Society) Somewhere in the (un)known Universe? |

Firefighters saved the historic ship with only 1 injury to a Firefighter. Savoir-Faire is everywhere! The T1 Trust, T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, America's First HST |

Given it is a few hundred yards between the two piers, and there has been no news of the fire spreading along the front I think the sea-lions are safe. Even if they are bored by not being entertained by human watching. Bob Smith Member of Seti PIPPS (Pluto is a Planet Protest Society) Somewhere in the (un)known Universe? |

Picture I took in 2018, Note from the angle of the original picture the main fire was behind the SS Jeremiah O'Brien. And from reports the fire did not spread to the area of the sea lions. |
