Well,

Just wanted to say that I configured BOINC to not retrieve any new tasks from Seti@Home just a few moments ago. I still have one computer that I will keep crunching S@H work units until they run out, but my primary system will be moved to Folding@Home. Given current events, it seems like a logical place to go.

There have been people running Seti@Home for longer than myself (I'm at about 19.5yrs) and certainly many who've contributed more. I've always loved the idea that I was doing my small part to help prove we are not alone. Over the years, the screen saver has sparked many interesting conversations with visitors to my home and the look on peoples faces when you tell them your searching for "Aliens" is priceless. :D

Thanks to everyone behind the scenes who make\made this happen and I can only hope that the data collected over the past 20yrs proves useful and enlightening.

I pan to keep my 2 itty bitty crunchers going until the project runs out of tasks for me. ALL IN until the very last one.

If they decode a message such as -

"You are pointing your antenna in the wrong direction!"

They will have to start again!

I'm taking my toys and moving over to Einstein@home. They also have a Cafe area so catch me in the Word Link thread!

Goodbye friends!
I'm putting myself to the fullest possible use, which is all, I think, that any conscious entity can ever hope to do.

Its been a good ride. I will run to the last work unit. Then switch one comp over to Milkyway and the other to Einstien.
Stay safe .

Evenso I have supported other projects in the past, SETI has been my first love. I will spend the money saved on toiletpaper ;)

I will run to the last work unit too. However when it's over, including with all resends, I will not join any other projects.
I've been running SETI only, and I have no interest in any other project.

How boring, I will miss your deep insight.

Uli the money save is trivial compared to the rewards.
