Been using a Kenwood for years, still got 4 filters in stock. As for shortage of TP, just buy some kitchen rolls. :-) "Kitchen Rolls" ---> US: "Paper Towels" These ARE GONE, too!!! COSTCO just implemented Employee 'Guards' that NOW hand ONE and ONLY ONE package of TP and Paper Towels to Customers WHO MUST get in a line to receive these items. Just got back from attempting some light grocery shopping in Fort Worth TX metro area... Local grocery store had armed police on each end of the paper goods isle only allowing one package of any TP, paper towels, etc. No hand sanitizer or disinfectant wipes. No asprin or cough/cold meds to be seen. Store had signs on front door stating they are limiting quantity of ALL items to reasonable amounts and it will be enforced at checkouts - no exception. What should of taken maybe 30 minutes to park, enter, shop, pay and exit took almost 75 minutes. My neighbor who works as a department manager at a local home improvement store told me yesterday they sold out of deep freezers and refrigerators of all sizes. Storage sheds are also in short supply. They also have not had any TP, napkins or paper towels since Wednesday and might get partial shipment some time this week. The hoarders will do whatever they feel is necessary to overstock their bunkers but not thinking of the average Joe/Jane needing to buy what is needed for the week. |

Just been down my local Tesco's, it would be quicker to list what they have still got on their shelves and freezers than whats missing. Easter eggs are still in good supply:-) Kevin |

Just remember that they will eventually run out of money. When is the question. Now they that hoards the most is the winner and a fat target 🎯 when it really hit the fan the hardest. |

Even in Sweden:) Many read too much social media. The silly thing is that there are no lack of TP. It's only the suppliers that can't keep up with the deliveries. |

Anyone over 70 is apparently being shortly to be advised to self-isolate for 4 months or risk a £1000 fine. Are they paying tips for the arrest/conviction of the scofflaws yet? |

Yeah none in Barstow CA as the town is fresh out of TP, I couldn't get one roll. So it's a washrag and soap to stretch out what TP that I do have. In Victorville CA people were lined up outside one super market, I said no way am I standing in another line, the line at the SSA was short by comparison, much shorter. And it was crowded inside, crazy. Savoir-Faire is everywhere! The T1 Trust, T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, America's First HST |

Took a walk to my corner gas station earlier this evening to try my luck with some lottery tix they have a big hand-painted sign by the boulevard entrance saying: " NO BREAD / NO MILK / NO EGGS / LOTS OF GAS". |

Even The Babylon Bee has a bit of satirical fun with #TPCRISIS Bernie: 'We Must Seize The Means Of Toilet Paper Production' "1% of the people now own 99% of the toilet paper. Under a socialist system, each person would get an equal amount, which would probably be two or three squares. But at least we would all be equal." |

Two days ago I was at a local Walmart grocery store where many of the same supplies people bought when a hurricane was threatening were in low supply or out all together. one item I noticed was all their rubbing alcohol was gone. Bleach was running low at Food4Less in Barstow CA, last I looked there was 8 slim bottles of Clorox bleach and that did not involve the 2 in My cart, I just bought what I needed since I was low on a few things and out of 10 registers, 7 were staffed and running with very long lines. But... Most individuals needing to stock up a few weeks during extreme shortages and possible lock downs is not a negative. Nor an example of "Fantastic herd mentality really, and says a lot about how free people really are :-)"Agreed. But that isn't what is happening in many stores here, hence the comments on the stupidity of many people. For those that don't like to be called stupid (or greedy scum for those buying up in order to rip off others), if they were to return the excess so that they end up with a few weeks extra, they would no longer be considered stupid. I got abuse shouted at me while doing my weekly shop. I'd run out of rice, pasta and toothpaste thus they were on my list. Picked up the last pack of rice and the penultimate pack of pasta before the abusive shouter (who had obviously visited the loo roll section of the store and cleaned the shelves into their pair of large trollies) that I should leave some for everyone else, I ignored them and continued on my way collecting the stuff I need - ah toothpaste, any left, three tubes, so I picked up one, leaving two, abusive gob now shouted at me again to leave some, and they then picked up the last two tubes.... Justice at the check-out, none of their cards worked and they had no cash so had to leave the lot in the store. (I have to admit to having joined several other shoppers in smirking at their "misfortune"....) This morning I got up early to go the the local donut shop. It is one of those old school donut shops where they actually make the donuts in there so they are always fresh. I get my donuts and head out to the grocery store for one item---carrots. Making corned beef for st. pats day and I have all I need. The corned beef, of course, potatoes and cabbage but no carrots. Damn. Went to the first grocery store they have no carrots, stopped by another one down the road...again no carrots. went to a third one and behold they had carrots! A St. Paddy's Day Miracle. I know everyone is buying mass quantities of toilet paper, but carrots? |

That could be quite true. Or maybe so many people are buying and eating carrots and with all that fiber in their systems, they need mass amounts of toilet paper...lol |

I saw one guy buy a bag of carrots almost as big as ones thigh yesterday, but that was the exception, everyone else were buying stuff, half the liquid clothes detergent was sold out. I'm glad you found your carrots. Savoir-Faire is everywhere! The T1 Trust, T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, America's First HST |
