Hi, everyone, I have downloaded BOINC for Windows (64 bit). Now I have the problem that the program does not connect. (Restoring the connection to a client // current status is being determined) Are the servers currently offline or what could be the reason? (Firewall is disabled, ports are open) Thanks. Many greetings |

Which version, and what hardware are you running it on? There is a known problem with trying to run the 64-bit version of BOINC on low-power Intel Celerons and some of the Core processors intended to run in miniature and fanless enclosures. As a workround, you can run the 32-bit version of BOINC on the affected machines. |

Thanks. Your i7-8550U processor is a "Kaby Lake Refresh". We don't have a comprehensive list of affected models, but that sounds fairly similar to (and a little newer than) my "Apollo Lake" Celeron J3455, which I bought to explore the problem and a possible future fix. So I think it's worth trying the 32-bit workround on that machine. |

Thanks for your answer. In the meantime I already started the 32 bit version, unfortunately with the same problem. Then I'll take another laptop. |
