House finish, my washing done, bed freshly made and storms playing havoc with the power supply so I'm enjoying a few beers while watching the rain fall with crunching suspended until these storms have passed (again).

Cheers.

The lightening is only a problem here with the power supply Vic, I actually been through a few direct hits over the years here and survived them.

Both the house and shed are equipped with dual ground spikes (diagonally opposite each other) and the antenna mast has its own as well. When you live in a mountain village with mostly steel roofs and sheds with a layer of iron stone beneath strikes here can run along several roofs before dissipating. ;-)

But I can tell you that those strikes scare the crap out of ya every time when they do happen.

Crunching has resumed.

Cheers.

Yeah I imagine they would, I once had some thunder happen right over the home and was it ever loud.

I just live in a desert, but the Calico mountains are to the North and there are some to the South and I have a metal roof too.

Outside the park homes are aligned in an W-E direction since the dominant wind comes from the west, in the park it's N-S for some reason.

Another lot of storms are approaching here so crunching will stop again if the power supply again turn flakey.

Cheers.

I grew up in a single wide mobile home and have had stuff knocked off self walls from strong overhead thunder shockwaves.

I have always enjoyed lighting. When I lived on my sailboat it was a little scary. Having a 100 foot aluminium pole in the air and surrounded by water seems a little unsafe. But strikes on sailboats are rare. Here is one evening in Morro Bay.

My 2500K rig was bumping at the 100K RAC mark before yesterday's storms, but I lost about 5-6hrs of crunching time due to the flakey power supply in this region so I've got a bit of catching up to do now.

The rain was welcome though with another 10.5mm in the gauge this morning (MTD:146mm/YTD:268.5mm) and we're closing in fast on last year's pathetic 307.25mm total.

Cheers.
