Trying to account for why my 24/7 cruncher "gtx 1070ti" runs only about 1/2 the speed of SOME of my wingman's 1060 over at Einstein. No good answers at their forum. I do not run windows seti so cannot verify the problem here. I run the studio as I don't play games other than P-vs-Z Comparing the same work units I see my wingman has the phrase FPU status flags: COND_1 PRECISION whereas I have FPU status flags: PRECISION maybe that is the difference? I tried googling for that phrase but got nothing useful,. Tried "OpenCL COND_1 precision" but it must be something unique to the Einstein app info messages. |

I wouldn't think it would matter, but I guess it's possible. have you tried changing the driver to see if you get any speed boost? maybe it's some command line parameters for the Einstein app? Seti@Home classic workunits: 29,492 CPU time: 134,419 hours |

Generally the "gamer" releases are aimed at improving the performance of one or more games, while the "stdio" releases are a more stable platform rolling up a number of other issues, and may include things that assist in computational work.
