Hello folks, my problem occurs since I switched to the latest Ubuntu version with free amdgpu drivers. Now there are "OpenCL build failure" errors. Is it possible to use GPU with open drivers (BOINC version is 7.16.3 x86_64-pc-linux-gnu). Here is boinc output from terminal: 05-Nov-2019 14:59:02 [---] OpenCL: AMD/ATI GPU 0: Radeon RX 580 Series (POLARIS10, DRM 3.33.0, 5.3.8-050308-generic, LLVM 9.0.0) (driver version 19.3.0-devel, device version OpenCL 1.1 Mesa 19.3.0-devel (git-ff6e148 2019-10-29 eoan-oibaf-ppa), 8192MB, 8192MB available, 3934 GFLOPS Any help is highly appreciated. Kind regards stefan |

BOINC does not work with the normal Mesa OpenCL drivers for most projects. Seti being one of them. You need to use the normal card vendor OpenCL driver components. The problem is that AMD probably hasn't made any drivers for Ubuntu 19.10 yet. There are the legacy drivers that work: ./amdgpu-install -y --opencl=legacy Or maybe try your existing drivers with the --opencl=legacy option flag. Look at your driver documentation. I also saw a post about installing the mesa-opencl-icd drivers working on Ubuntu 18.04 sudo aptitude install mesa-opencl-icd Seti@Home classic workunits:20,676 CPU time:74,226 hours A proud member of the OFA (Old Farts Association) |
