Intermittently I am getting this msg while other SETI tasks are still running. System is Win 10 Pro with latest Nvidea Studio drivers from NVidea (not MS). Reinstalling driver did not resolve. Other apps using the GPU seem fine (Photoshop, DXO PhotoLab). Ideas? Richard |

There seem to be problems with "the latest drivers" from Nvidia, so go to their website and get the 430/431 drivers, those are the last to work correctly. Do a clean install of them. Edit, URL for those drivers: https://www.nvidia.com/download/driverResults.aspx/148865/en-us |

I am using 431.86 Sept 4 2019 Studio (not Gaming as I don't do that - Image editing). Richard |

Well the part of the graphics drivers that your examples stating they are working for other programs has no bearing on whether the drivers are working for compute. The OpenCL component of the drivers are the only part that is necessary for compute. If those are missing then the card can't be used for BOINC. Try downloading the drivers again from Nvidia. @ Richard James If you haven't already done so, try removing the GPU, clean the contacts with a soft pencil eraser, and reinstall being sure it fits properly. An intermittent disconnect might not matter or be noticed by other programs, but SETI uses the GPU very frequently. Good luck! |

I am using 431.86 Sept 4 2019 Studio (not Gaming as I don't do that - Image editing).v 431.60 was the last one to work with out errors on some WUs. Exit BOINC, restart it after a bit of a wait & check out the Event log. It should have something similar to this at the start- 9/10/2019 14:25:21 | | Starting BOINC client version 7.6.33 for windows_x86_64 9/10/2019 14:25:21 | | log flags: file_xfer, sched_ops, task 9/10/2019 14:25:21 | | Libraries: libcurl/7.47.1 OpenSSL/1.0.2g zlib/1.2.8 9/10/2019 14:25:21 | | Data directory: C:\ProgramData\BOINC 9/10/2019 14:25:21 | | Running under account USER 9/10/2019 14:25:22 | | CUDA: NVIDIA GPU 0: GeForce RTX 2060 SUPER (driver version 431.60, CUDA version 10.1, compute capability 7.5, 4096MB, 3555MB available, 16059 GFLOPS peak) 9/10/2019 14:25:22 | | CUDA: NVIDIA GPU 1: GeForce RTX 2060 (driver version 431.60, CUDA version 10.1, compute capability 7.5, 4096MB, 3556MB available, 14054 GFLOPS peak) 9/10/2019 14:25:22 | | OpenCL: NVIDIA GPU 0: GeForce RTX 2060 SUPER (driver version 431.60, device version OpenCL 1.2 CUDA, 8192MB, 3555MB available, 16059 GFLOPS peak) 9/10/2019 14:25:22 | | OpenCL: NVIDIA GPU 1: GeForce RTX 2060 (driver version 431.60, device version OpenCL 1.2 CUDA, 6144MB, 3556MB available, 14054 GFLOPS peak)If it doesn't have the OpenCL entries there, then it means OpenCL isn't installed. Darrell, is it possible that you tried to use both your onboard GPU AND your vid card together, and then at some point decide not to do that anymore, so you disabled the "keep using onboard video if there is an external video device", in the system bios? I had tried running both as well and made the change on the site's config page in my account info to the "Seti@home preferences" link . using both GPUs were giving my system issues. But my system had already downloaded many jobs already set for the onboard GPU and became "GPU missing". |

After several reboots (for other reasons), all seems to be well, all tasks show no GPU issue. Thanks for your input. Richard |
