I set my SETI@Home project to "NO NEW TASKS" in BOINC, yet I continue to receive new tasks whenever a task is completed or aborted. Is there anything I can do to correct this behavior, or is it a server-side issue that y'all need to fix? Please help... I want to continue participating in the project, but not if the project does not respect my settings. Thanks in advance.

Just to make sure, the button now says "allow new tasks"? The button shows the option you have, not the state it's in.

If it shows "no new tasks" it's in the status of allowing new tasks.

If that's set correctly, next question is if you're using an account manager, such as Science United, as then you have to set things like this through there.

I did not know about Science United, but I did some research & I now understand (a little bit). No. I am not using an account manager. I confirmed this via ADVANCED VIEW > TOOLS > USE ACCOUNT MANAGER.

On a side note, would you / the community recommend using an account manager? If so, what are the advantages & disadvantages of Science United vs Gridrepublic vs BAM!?

Also, GRCPool sounds very interesting... Using BOINC for Crypto mining? Hmm. Has anyone made use of this? Is it better or worse in any way than a traditional mining pool? Do you control which cryptos you work on and receive? Lastly, if you are using GRCPool, can you still (simultaneously) also do work on non-crypto projects/tasks (such as SETI@Home, World Community Grid, Quake-Catcher Network, etc.)?

I have enlisted a PC with Windows 8.1 to Science United, stating that my interests are astronomy, physics and chemistry. What I get are mostly MilkyWay@Home and Asteroids@home tasks, both CPU and GPU, but also SETI@home tasks. A VirtualBox Linux running SuSE Tumbleweed with kernel 5.3.1 hosted on the same PC also sends me the same tasks.
