This is all that pops up when I open the program. I'm assuming this means it's not doing anything?

Correct... by default it won't process work if the device (ie laptop, tablet or smartphone) is not plugged in and charging.

If you want to override this, go into the Options menu > Computing Preferences and uncheck "Suspend when computer is on battery..." assuming that this is for the Darwin notebook in your profile.
