The software itself needs some 2MB and each WU is some 354kB. The settings concerning disk space will be related to the size of your hard disk. Another setting you might check is the "Keep enough work on disk to last between" in the "General Preferences" in "Your Account". A good setting to start with is 0.2 as minimum. The maximum you want to set is depending on how quick your PC will process the WU's. I would recommend to start with a maximum setting of 1 day and have a look once processing start how quick a WU will be processed. Once you know this you can increase the maximum setting. Keep in mind each WU has a "Report Deadline" as you can see in the "Work" tab of the GUI. This deadline is 14 days starting at the day the WU has been downloaded. Once you made the changes in the "General Preferences" you have to use in the tab "Projects" of the GUI the "Update" function in order to make the changes inside Boinc on your PC. Hope this helps. Greetings from Belgium. |

no, the problem is the site right now... sometimes it has no work to distribute. just be patient as it took me 5 days to download 1 WU. I now have about 20 so it is coming. ttyl Jeff |
