Since I cannot post in the FSB, I see, thread I started this one. What if like sonic booms, FRBs' are the result of accelerating to faster then light speed. I mean I never bought into the Einstein's opinion that nothing travels faster then light. Space has to! There has to be (some) space for light to progress into so space has to get there first. I think the FSBs' are like what we call sonic booms. It still can be "natural" in that galaxies are now moving away from each other faster then the speed of light. That is why we humans ( the Germans) launched an X-Ray telescope. I welcome creative thought in reply. á´¡á´‡ ᴅᴀʀᴇsá´€Ê á´€Ê™á´á´œá´› ᴛʜᴇ ᴘᴀsá´› ᴛʜᴀᴛ ɪᴛ ɪs ғɪɴɪᴛᴇ Êᴇᴛ á´¡á´‡ ᴅᴀʀᴇ É´á´á´› ʙᴇʟɪᴇᴠᴇ ᴛʜᴇ ғᴜᴛᴜʀᴇ ɪs. |

In the inflation hypothesis space expanded faster than light. FRBs travel at the speed of light. The eRosita X-ray telescope will search for high energy X-ray photons. So far relativity has survived all tests, including that of gravitational waves. Tullio |

I would imagine that FRBs' do travel at the speed of light since they are an electromagnetic emission. The question, as I understand it, is what is generating the FRBs'. One suggestion I remember hearing was that the FRBs' could be a result of a spacecraft propulsion system. I believe it was suggested it would be a "light-sail" type craft where the FRB is aimed at the craft causing acceleration to near light speed. Sure enough this is a curious topic. Safe to say we will have time to use our imagination before we have an answer as to the facts about FRBs' I love the theory that an FRB is like a sonic boom except that it happens by surpassing the speed of light not the speed of sound. I'm one who dreams of "warp-drives" and "Star-Gates." I welcome interesting discussion on FRBs'. á´¡á´‡ ᴅᴀʀᴇsá´€Ê á´€Ê™á´á´œá´› ᴛʜᴇ ᴘᴀsá´› ᴛʜᴀᴛ ɪᴛ ɪs ғɪɴɪᴛᴇ Êᴇᴛ á´¡á´‡ ᴅᴀʀᴇ É´á´á´› ʙᴇʟɪᴇᴠᴇ ᴛʜᴇ ғᴜᴛᴜʀᴇ ɪs. |
