Well the month of November (or "Snowvember" as they're calling it further south) kicked off here rather noisily, wet and windy with 41mm being dumped here that'll make those inland lakes bigger and those lake areas copped on average another 50mm dumped on them.

Anyhow for October here our average minimum was up by 1.9C at 7.6°C while our average max was down by 3C at 18.3°C. We also got 50% more rain than on average with 123.75mm.

Our year to date rainfall total is now at 878.75mm which is still ahead of the average 792.5mm as the stuff continues to fall.

Sometime tonight the cold air coming off of all that snow falling down south should reach here making for a very cold day tomorrow.

Well it was 10yrs ago when it last snowed here in November and it came very close to doing it again last night, but others didn't miss out.

Snow down the southern end of this range, frosts on this section of it and those slow moving flood lakes west of the divide are still growing inundating and isolating more people and places.

No wonder there is so much flooding- It's not unusual to get well above average rainfall here & there, but to have Very much above average rainfall over the entire Murray/Darling system catchment over a 10 month period, with record amounts at many locations, flooding is inevitable.
And the outlook- while moving north, there will continue to be more Above average to Very much above average rainfall in the Darling catchment, and likely to still be Above average rainfall in the Murray catchment, over the coming months.

Interesting to see how Tas has one half below average and the other half above average. Such variation in small island.

Also that the "Darwin area" has mostly had below average rainfall - I thought in that area if it wasn't raining it would be in the next couple of hours (and that the rain was "proper" rain, not some miserable drizzle).

Not so hard to understand Rob when you consider the huge lump that's in the middle of it. ;-)

Well the flood warnings are out again as more rain moves into western districts of the state this morning dumping on already flooded regions making for a wet weekend ahead with this slow moving system.

Thankfully the big numbers that were expected here have been dropping down and we may start to get closer to our average November temps because as it stands now we're down 3.3C on the min and 5C down on the max so far.

While we have managed to dodge the rain so far, but those out west and down south havn't been so lucky as mud gets washed back into towns that just got it washed out, as those slow moving flood lakes just keep on getting bigger.

Meanwhile reports are just coming in about a huge freight train derailment down in Victoria caused by the soggy ground and thankfully no injuries have been reported.

While us up this northern end of the state have largely missed out on the dump from this stalled wet system others havn't been so lucky.

Experts say that the Murray River floods may not recede until 2023, sparking concern for residents while in S.A. a Major flood emergency declared in the Riverland as floodwaters continue to rise and if those farmers wern't doing it hard enough Hail storms in Victoria's Mallee region cause major crop damage while Truck drivers forced hundreds of kilometres off track after flooding closes roads along with more bad news as The monsoon is set to arrive early this year, increasing the threat of more floods and cyclones.
