I've been across that bridge so many times on shopping trips and other things over the last 19yrs.

We received another 2.25mm here after the 9am reading so that finished February off with 110mm, but down the hill there were places that recorded over 700mm over the last few days.

Our average min. temp for this month was down by 1.3C while our average max. was down by 2.6C.

Anyhow up in SE Qld. sadly 8 people have now lost their lives with several reported missing and they're now timing releases of water from Wivenhoe and Somerset dams with coming low tides and they expect that they have 6 days to get them back to normal levels before another possible rain event.

Flood alerts are now out for the Nepean/Hawkesbury river system down in Sydney as the big wet begins down there and both Warragamba and Nepean dams are ready to spill. Unlike a lot of Queensland dams neither of these dams were designed for flood mitigation purposes so will spill at 100% and both are now at 99%.

I guess we'll seen if that bridge that wasn't suppose to go under goes under again. Not that going under matters that much as the land on 1 side goes well under well before the bridge does. LOL

Meanwhile it looks like the wet weather will return here today instead of tomorrow, but I will see if I can get a bit more of that drainage trench dug out along the high side of the yard before it gets here.

The death count from the flooding in the Northern Rivers region (just down the hill from here) is now at 4 and more rain is dumping down there. :-(

Meanwhile down in Sydney both Warragamba and Nepean dams are now spilling and flooding is expected to be worse than in 2021. More heavy rain is expected down there as well today. The bridge that isn't suppose to go under is ATM a bridge to nowhere and it will likely go right under within hours.

Anyhow I'm going to see if I can get a bit more of my drainage trench dug today before the forecasted showers, heavy rain, thunderstorms and possible hail turn up here.

Well the rain and storms that passed just north of us here went down to terrorise the north coast and Brisbane for a few hours.

Anyhow I better get back into that drainage ditch that I'm digging. ;-)

The lower Mid North Coast and the Hunter Valley regions are copping it this morning.

[edit]Lismore has started cleaning up after a lot of pumping and that just goes to prove that you can plan for something happening (like the record breaking 2017 floods) and then, bam, you get even worse thrown at ya.

It looks like another low is about to move out onto the coast north of Brisbane so the whole of SE Qld. is back on a weather & flood alert and Wivenhoe dam is still above 140% capacity (100% is water storage while the other 100% is flood mitigation) which they were hoping to get back down to 100% before this system hits.

Anyhow I better get a bit more done on my drainage trench. ;-)

The rain is still going on down south in the Warragamba and Nepean catchments and the bridge that wasn't suppose to go under, but has now done so twice in 1yr, is still a bridge to nowhere today as the other side is still well under water.

Anyhow these eastern 2 low pressure systems that have had the experts worried over the last week are again moving towards the sea again with the southern most directly overhead now as it moves eastward, but so far we've managed to miss out on the action here.

Yes it's still raining down there and now the south coast is copping a battering. :-(

Well that low that has terrorised the east coast looks to be finally on its way across the ditch, but high winds are still expected to bring down trees today.

Over 40,000 people have been ordered to evacuate their homes across NSW as the state braces for another day of devastation with a new threat to smash Sydney.

That bridge at Windsor that isn't suppose to go under has gone under for the 3rd time now, but I don't know why they make such fuss about when 1 side is completely underwater before the bridge is anyway.

Anyhow I better get back to my drainage trench project. ;-)

In March we usually get around 300mm of rain for the month.
So far, we've had 1.6mm, with another huge 3.6mm to be added on from yesterday once we hit 9:00am this morning.

After another deluge out at an already sodden Broken Hill causing major flash flooding another life has sadly been lost. :-(

What is it with some people wanting to drive into flood waters?

Flood alerts and evacuations are going on again in Queensland and N.S.W. as the east coast gets hammered again with parts just west of the range also being included and tomorrow is suppose to be another big event day. Low lying Lismore residents have been advised to go tonight and they're still cleaning up from the last spell.

85mm has fallen here over the last 5 days (with 1 day off) which is our average for March and we're now up to 108.5mm with 3 days to go yet until the end of the month. We're also up to 311.25mm for the year so far, ahead of our 276.0mm average to this point.
