Well I just unloaded and stacked my 4th trailer load of firewood for this winter (I shouldn't need anymore until next winter now), but even with the weather starting to warm up a few beers of an evening by the fire will still be had yet. We got off to another foggy and frosty start again this morning kicking off at -3C (felt like -6C) while ATM it's 5C (feels like 2C), but 15C is expected. Cheers. |

Our average rainfall for September is 15.6mm, early this morning we got 50mm over a few hours. Looks like the BoM might be right- we could be i for a more normal wet, after the last two were very dry (as they go). It was certainly a very dry Dry season- we usually get the odd shower here & there, but that didn't occur this year. There were a couple of months where the official figures were more than 0mm, but that rain was very localised. The rain here this morning is the first since mid April. 5 months with no rain at all is very unusual. Grant Darwin NT |

Well we're entering our spring storm season here and we havn't had a frost since the 2nd (I wouldn't bet that we've seen the last just yet though), but we have been enjoying some lovely spring weather since in which I got the yard back under control, though we've been getting some lite showers overnight and today while the experts reckon that it should get wetter here over the next 2-3 days. Cheers. |

Spring has certainly hit the highlands here, but we've still yet to see all this rain as yet as most just peters out short of here (YTD:641.5mm), with 20C+ days (24C yesterday with 23C expected today and then some 25C days follow). Well I was going to mow today seeing as it has been a week since I sprayed for bindii, clover and other broad leaf weeds (which was delayed a few days by the wind) and some areas of the yard are now in need of it after 17 days since the last mow, but sadly my left shoulder is on strike ATM. :-( Anyhow, I better go and get another cold pack out of the freezer for this shoulder. |

Well, we got more than our monthly average of rain in September (17mm) in 1 event- 50mm (87 for the month). And we just got more than our monthly average for October (70mm) over 12 hours in 2 events (51mm and 62mm). Already 152mm so far. It's looking like we might finally get a wet Wet season. Well the spring storm season was a bit late getting here, but it's been working every day for the last week and the storms are expected to continue through until next week. We're still down on the average rainfall for here, but at MTD:53.75mm/YTD:695.25mm we still need another 25mm to get this month's average covered and we're within 60mm of putting our 3rd lowest year over the last 18yrs behind us. Cheers. |

Well the spring storm season was a bit late getting here, but it's been working every day for the last week and the storms are expected to continue through until next week.Only had a shower or two since or initial burst of rain. Plenty of storms inland though. In the stats it shows as being well above average, but the number of rain days is way, way, way down. Grant Darwin NT |

I see SE QLD is getting the snot knocked out of it again. Hail stones the size of cricket balls. Punching holes in rooves & even through the ceiling in to the house. Grant Darwin NT |

I see SE QLD is getting the snot knocked out of it again.Thankfully we only got the start of cloud build up for them here over the last 48hrs, but as soon as they dropped off the escarpment they went ballistic through the Northern Rivers of N.S.W. before running up through S.E. Queensland. We certainly got the cold rear end of it all today as even though the mercury here reached 21C it only felt like 14C out in that gale in the shade that was trying to blow us all off the top off this mountain here and all the way down to Coffs Harbour (there was some old iron roofs around here making some loud noises that they shouldn't be making and will need looking at). :-O Cheers. |

Almost halfway through the month, and only 5mm of rain to date. Monthly average is 143mm. Grant Darwin NT |

Almost halfway through the month, and only 5mm of rain to date.We just recorded 4.25mm here for the month taking our total for the year to 699.5mm (we're still at least 100mm short of the yearly average yet) as we'll get our 1st taste of summer this weekend with 27C expected today and 29C is expected tomorrow. Cheers. |

It's getting warm on top of this mountain range as the mercury hits here 25C (feels like 23C) with 30C expected, but west of here down on the plains the temperatures have already passed 30C with mid to high 30's expected down there. :-O Cheers. |

We certainly got an early taste of mid-summer here in the northern highlands of N.S.W. yesterday with the mercury reaching 32C (felt like 30C), but thankfully the temps should be back down to mid to high 20's for the rest of the week. We also had a storm here in the early hours of the morning that left 8.5mm behind with another band of showers heading this way that could arrive here before 9am and more showers along with a possible storm expected this afternoon. A cooler 27C is our expected max today. Cheers. |

Another 50mm is now needed to pass 2015's 757mm which is the 3rd lowest yearly total that I've recorded since moving here in from Sydney at the beginning of 2003. Cheers. |

The last 2 days saw a summery like 29C here again and 30C is expected today with 29C expected tomorrow before we drop back to springtime like temps for a few days, but only 1mm of rain from Friday's storms that just clipped us and yesterday's totally skirted to the west of us (MTD:13.75mm/YTD:709mm) so we're still 100mm short of this month's average and about 240mm short of our yearly average. Cheers. |

Had a couple of showers/storms move through the last couple of mornings, but still no real rain worth mentioning. Still getting 26° to 35°c days. 25mm of rain so far this month, well below the 143mm average. Grant Darwin NT |
