What’s the purpose of average credits?

Credits are meant to be an indication of how much work one's computer is doing.
Average Credit is a rolling average, which is meant to of help when making changes, or comparing two computers with different hardware, software.
You will notice I use the word "meant" - the truth is the process for awarding credit is poorly behaved and can award very different amounts oc credit for "identical" tasks that were run on different hardware & software combinations.

On a less serious note, there is a rumor that there is a toaster available when one reaches some mystical crore, but nobody has reached it yet as the score required increases faster than the biggest hitter is achieving (but that doesn't stop people trying to get one).

I started running Seti on March 23. My average credits are now at 7,529 total 133,752. Is that decent for a 12 core Mac Pro? I would add to that, my Radpberry Pi is contributing to those figures.

I would say that is on the low side - your run-times are at between three and four hours, compared to my similar generation Xeon's times of about 90 minutes.

Forgot to mention running all 12 cores at 100%, but only 60% of the time otherwise my fans get way to loud.

You might find it more productive to reduce the number of cores, but run them 100% (or at least that's what I found worked on my Xeon...)

I have found the 90% of your cpus running at 100% seems to work across a variety of platforms.

At least some of your cpu tasks seem to be running down in the 2.5 hour range.

You gpu is supposed to be running at least 3/4 of the speed of a Gtx 750Ti . A gtx 750Ti does maybe 15-18 minutes per task with SOG under Windows. So I wonder if there are any gpu parameters you can change to drop the wall clock time?
