There is no such thing as a particle photon or a particle electron. They are disturbances in an electromagnetic field. The mass of the electron simply refers to it's average energy. |

It depends on if you observe them or not:) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wave%E2%80%93particle_duality A photon doesn't have a mass, it's only a wave packet of energy travelling with the speed of light. The electron however have a mass, 0,511 MeV/c2. That mass seems to be all over the place and not even barriers can stop that mass. The quantum tunneling effect is one strange thing that happens and today very much utilized in electronics. Then there are alternative views of course... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wave%E2%80%93particle_duality#Alternative_views |

A thread about the very weird world that we all are part of. I hope I posted this science story in the correct thread? I apologize if this has been posted before or in an other thread. WOW - I love Science and Math :) A 'no-brainer Nobel Prize': Hungarian scientists may have found a fifth force of nature By Ryan Prior, CNN Updated 2:44 PM ET, Sat November 23, 2019 (CNN)Physics centers essentially on four forces that control our known, visible universe, governing everything from the production of heat in the sun to the way your laptop works. They are gravity, electromagnetism, the weak nuclear force, and the strong force. https://www.cnn.com/2019/11/22/world/fifth-force-of-nature-scn-trnd/index.html ![]() |
