Is there a possibility of running Seti and other programs on a Raspberry Pi hardware platform? It's a low cost per unit, good computing speed and has the possibility of adding an order of magnitude to the computing power to the Seti project. You don't need a dedicated monitor, keyboard etc. You would just set up each one and then let them run independently. The newer versions are wifi enabled as well so no need to reconnect to upload finished tasks and download new ones. Plus the price point is cheap, cheap and cheap compared to buying a whole computer just to do computations for the project. They can also run different program languages. Just a thought. |

There are several crunchers using Raspberry Pi's on SETI@home. Here is a recent thread. https://setiathome.berkeley.edu/forum_thread.php?id=83660 |
