Seti for BOINC uses the email as the unique identifier, not the user name. As can be seen by looking up your temporary user name. This Seti has never had a login based on user name only. That may have been Seti Classic, but Seti Classic has been dead since 2005.

Now, to log in on the account you use here, go to one of the machines that is running Seti, navigate to its data directory (for Windows that's a hidden directory at C:\Programdata\BOINC\, so fill that in in Windows Explorer and hit Enter), then find and open the file called account_setiathome.berkeley.edu.xml, you can open it with Notepad, or in a browser. Select and copy (CTRL+C) the 32 character hexadecimal number from the authenticator tags.
Close the account_*.xml file, if done with Notepad and it asks if you want to save changes, tell it NO!

In a browser, go to https://setiathome.berkeley.edu/get_passwd.php and paste (CTRL+V) the hexadecimal number into the "email" path, then hit OK. You will log in immediately and can now change password, check your email address etc.

Okay, I have sent email to the administrators here, either Eric or David will hopefully get back to you via private message on your Temporary account or via me.
I've asked them to check if there's an email address associated with the account name you gave. I'll assume they'll check with you what email address it is if there is one.

I sent you a PM with the email address that shows in the database. Looks like there's a semi-colon in the wrong place in it. But PM me back with what email address you want to have and I'll forward that to the admins.

Long time account - started approx. 2000. Had to restart in 2018, but my account shows no statistics even though on my stats page I have over 3 1/2 million completed tasks. My computer has been running 24 hrs a day for 18 years. How can this updated to reflect this?

You say you "restarted" in 2018, but your computers have been running for 18 years.

As the account you have posted here with shows no computers were ever connected, I have to assume your old account is still active and your computers are connected to it.

Why did you have to "restart" in 2018?

I restarted in 2018 as my computer died and had to buy a new one. Downloaded SETI and everything restarted OK and have left SETI running ever since. Agree, I must still be connected to an old account. Any ideas!!

Hi

Thanks...I have read your post but that is not my issue...I have resolved restarting on my own with the original setup and original stats...

Cheers...

Actually that is exactly your issue, using that method you will be able to recover your old account, change password and or email address and reclaim your totals.

You appear to already be logged into the "lost"account on these forums as this account has 348,103 credit with three computers attached, and none contacted the servers since Oct. 2016.

So if you forgot the password to this account to attach one or more computers, click your account name at the top-right and then the "password" link beside "Change". Then you can choose a new password you know. You can also change the e-mail address there if required.

If you are trying to add a new computer, look for the "yes existing user" when attaching to SETI@Home, don't try to sign up for a new account, as this will give you the existing account message.

In the sign up box don't use the default

Click on the "yes existing user" button. This will take you to a "sign in" page rather than a "sign up" page.

(I used sat at home in the image as I am already signed up!)

SETI@Home uses the email address as the user id as they are unique.
