Party politics...as usual.Of course. Here we don't even have a new government after the election 4 months ago. Just because the 6(!) parties cannot agree on who to be the PM and what parties should be included in the government. |

Oh I love it. Reject the deal but don't fire the negotiator. Sounds like they don't want any deal, hard exit. |

Best comment of the day. :-) 93 mins Southampton 2-2 Derby Football 1-0 Brexit. BBC News now shifted to BBC2 :-) Now in the final 15m of extra time. Think that's what May is praying for right now. :-) |

Crazy idea.. put together a workable plan, and let the people vote on it. Nationalism gone wild plagues UK as well as USA. Janice |

Crazy idea.. put together a workable plan, and let the people vote on it. Nationalism gone wild plagues UK as well as USA.But that its the Brexit with a deal that is not an option to your goverment. So what is the deal? Many in Brussels like to know. I'm sure that many Brits like to know as well. The idea of an second referendum seems like the UK would like to stall the Exit even further. Is it too much to ask, when will you make up your mind? |

Crazy idea.. put together a workable plan, and let the people vote on it. Nationalism gone wild plagues UK as well as USA.But that its the Brexit with a deal that is not an option to your goverment. First of all, it is not my government. Interested bystander here. Second, the first referendum was presented in the matter of can they explore the possibility of a Brexit. From there it has been ram-rodded as an entitlement to ramrod it through. So there really has NOT been a vote on a plan to properly BREXIT. It is only fair there there should be one on an actual strategy. If that fails, there is no exit from EU. If it succeeds, they secede. To claim they MUST exit because it was deemed POSSIBLE is dishonest. Putting on the brakes seems a smart thing to do. But governments being smart does not seem to be in style. Janice |

IMO the common market was a good idea, the EU not so much and that obviously includes the Euro. |

First of all, it is not my government. Interested bystander here. Oh. Sorry, didn't notice that:) But you should know that the Brexit story is a long story. I think it actually started already 1 January 1973 when the UK joined EU together with Denmark and Ireland. This proved controversial already at the time.... |

I get it, not all of the EU uses euros, i.e. Great Britain. |

I see the Brussels Broadcasting Company is having a field day today with their scaremongering Best comment on the article. :-) The last time I drove in Germany I forgot we were supposed to drive on the wrong side of the road, thing is it didn't matter to much as I was driving a Chieftain Mk10 MBT.....not sure if I had a Green Card. |

The deadlock being seen now is royally P***ing me off. There was one individual that could have resolved the deadlock. Sadly the swill in Westminster took that power from that individual, & by doing so, betrayed the people of Britain again. The Monarch had the power to dissolve parliament & select a person to form a government. The 2011 Fixed Term Parliament Act removed that power. Well done Lib Dims. So thankful you will never gain power for many years to come. Best comment seen since May's defeat. This issue will never be solved until we deal with the fact that we have a PM and Leader of the Opposition who both have extremely limited leadership skills. |

LOL:) Who came up with that silly idea? Britain has always driving to the left. Before the EU and even within the EU for about 45 years. Now suddenly you have to get proof of insurance known as a Green Card... But then again I wonder why Britain still are driving to the left and not on the right side. We call it the wrong side. The H-Day in 1967:) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dagen_H |

Green cards aren't that old! I needed to have one when preparing for a student trip in 1972 - we're only winding the clock back by less than 50 years. And I remember being driven to Stockholm by my parents probably 10 years earlier - certainly no later than 1963* (I'll look up the exact date later). Which was great: Sweden still drove on the correct side of the road, but in preparation for H-Day all new cars being purchased were in left-hand-drive layout. So our little British car was the only one with the correct driving position for the roads, and so we were the only ones who could safely overtake... * Actually, August 1962 - we were heading for the 1962 ICM |

It is complicated, and then wrapped up in "Nationalism"(White Nationalism) In or out of the EU, UK is better than that. Janice |

The idea of Brexit is (I paraphrase) to untie our hands from European Union rules that are preventing our thrusting, state-of-the-art, technical and financial companies from travelling the world, selling our goods and services into the free market. Or words to that effect. Meanwhile, back in the real world..... Britain, the inventor of the railway, is buying new trains from Hitachi of Japan - but finds they can't run on electric power north of York. Fortunately, Hitachi fitted the trains with supplementary diesel engines, which means that they can run, slower and with more pollution, without an electric power supply. Maybe Hitachi knew in advance that Hitachi, still of Japan, hadn't been able to negotiate the finance for a new nuclear electricity generation plant that would, in part, have guaranteed the baseload electricity supply for the new trains. Which of the two countries involved has got its act together better? |
