The political soundbite being used is:
Alternative arrangements.
SO FAR, no one has said what those will be. The EU has rejected the Brady amendments already. :-)

Yes. Quoting BBC.
Senior EU representatives have repeatedly ruled out reopening negotiations with the UK over Brexit, and have insisted the backstop must be included in any deal.
And Ireland's European Affairs Minister, Helen McEntee, said: "There can be no change to the backstop. It was negotiated over 18 months with the UK and by the UK."

Easy answer. :-)
Re-unite the country.
No more Stormont
No more DUP
As for borders, think the Irish Sea is a lovely one. :-)

Wrong signage. If re-united, it should read: Eire. :-)

Blame the prime minister with her declaration of Trench Warfare with the EU.

Someone should tell her - This is 2019 not 1914

IRA active again ...
https://www.dw.com/en/ira-claims-bombing-in-northern-irelands-derry/a-47280343
That claim was made within a couple of days of the bomb, and it's fallen off the news agenda now.

The claim was made by a dissident, splinter, group - so it might be more accurate to report "new IRA splinter group flexes its muscles", rather than using the word 'again'. By the accounts I remember, it was a pretty crude, amateur, device. A warning was telephoned, and the area was evacuated without loss of life.

Edit - it's even fallen out of the bottom of my newspaper recycling pile, but not off the web.

Richard, of course it is quickly covered up in the news there. They don't want them to get press and use that a a recruitment tool.

Of course DW may be under orders to hype it up for their side.

It seems that both the United Nations & EU fail to understand democracy.
Gibraltarians rejected by 99% to 1% the idea of the UK sharing sovereignty with Spain in a vote in 2002 and in a previous referendum in 1967.

Everything that isn't inside that wall around London is a colony. Live with your history.

Hey, maybe that's your BREXIT. That's where the hard wall backstop between the EU and BREXITers can be properly established!

LOL. OR Trump can make America great again by NOT building a wall on the border but around Washington. :-)

Whitehall has drawn up secret plans to evacuate the Queen in the event of riots following a no-deal Brexit!
https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/plan-to-evacuate-the-queen-after-a-no-deal-brexit-35hft7ctw
https://www.svt.se/nyheter/utrikes/plan-for-att-evakuera-drottning-elisabeth-vid-brexit-oro
During the Cold War there were similar preparations as now. In case of a failed brexit would cause disturbances on London's streets, there is an evacuation plan for Britain's Queen Elizabeth and the rest of the royal family.
The tours around Britain's EU exit have been many and have become a process that never seems to end. Many are simply fed up with it. There are therefore those who fear that a further failure may lead to riots and anger among the Britons.
