I have been away for a few years and finally started SETI working on my older computer. I still have a 4P computer sitting around and wonder if it is worth using it for SETi computing vs power use. I just used CPU back in the early days but do see that GPU use seems to be the going thing . actually I have two 4P units. Any suggestions. |

Should have defined the computer as 4 processors each with 12 cores. |

Load a recent os, get that running prroperly before loading BOINC and SETI. If you don't try to push too hard they should be OK. Only you can decide if the output is worth the power. Bob Smith Member of Seti PIPPS (Pluto is a Planet Protest Society) Somewhere in the (un)known Universe? |
