27-Jul-2018 07:03:43 gstate.init() failed Error Code: -180This means that the BOINC client (boinc.exe) cannot make a communications port (usually TCP 31416) because either it's blocked, or because something else is using it. If you have a third party firewall, make sure to add boinc.exe and boincmgr.exe to it, both using TCP port 31416. BOINC uses that port for communication between its parts, so that BOINC Manager can show you real time information about tasks running in the client. BOINC requires that it can communicate between its own parts on TCP port 31416. Furthermore, boinc.exe requires internet connectivity on TCP ports 80 and 443. When you have a third party anti-virus, make sure to set the BOINC Data directory (default C:\Programdata\BOINC) to not be actively scanned. When none of the above work, can you lift the whole error from Windows Event Viewer and post that here? |

Is there a way to see, if and what uses these ports ? I'm not familiar with such things unfortunately.# My antivirus is Avast Free Antivirus. Edit: actually i checked the BOINC, its running as it should ! This morning, as it did not work, it had a red dot in its icon in the tray down at the task bar. But i restarted it and this was for hours, thats why i posted here. Anyway thanks for helping ! ![]() |
