My Toshiba Satellite crashed last night, so I picked up an new HP and the screensaver never loads when it goes to the screensaver.
It just has the floating BOINC logo and says 'Screensaver Loading'.
The specs of the laptop are as follows: Intel Core i5-8250U running at 1.8GHz
128GB Solid State HD
12288MB SODIMM DDR4 SDRAM
Win10 (biggest pile of garbage for an OS EVER)
I miss my Toshiba with Win7 running SETI when it was idle...

A while back one of the Windows 10 updates stopped the screensaver from working

I thought that later updates fixed this problem and you are running the latest version of Windows 10

However as I (and many other on these forums) don' run the screensaver I cannot say if the screensaver still works.

Unfortunately you will have to wait for someone who know the current situation.

And now another issue has popped up: unless I'm actively using the computer, it doesn't do work.
I went out for a few hours today, and checked what time the WUs were at and when I got home, they hadn't elapsed at all.
I have my settings set to run all the time, and my laptop is set to not go to sleep when on AC power.
This is seriously frustrating.
I hope I can get my old laptop up and running, because this thing, running Win10, is utter garbage.

Set Suspend when no mouse/keyboard input in last N minutes in your computing preferences to 0 (zero). This setting is only available in the online preferences.
